Tigers!

Fun fact... It has been reported on numerous occassions that tigers sometimes can mimic the bleating call of a sambar deer to lure it closer. Currently, there is no scientific documentation of this phenomenon, but it is a curious idea...

Tibetan wolf and sand fox.

My fun fact is for the sand fox. They are commonly known as the least territorial species of canines as well as the most cooperative. Not only do they hunt in mated pairs (sharing kills of plateau pikas), hunting territories often overlap significantly (sightings of multiple pairs of foxes hunting the same area simultaneously have happened!), but they have also been spotted as teaming up with bears and other local predators to make successful predations. This in turn has led them to be one of the most successfull canine hunters!

Fact, we thought there was only 1 species for a long time. However, we recently discovered that there are 3! I believe this was published in 2017 from genetic studies of samples in the wild.

My favorite animal! (In case you couldn't tell ). I love seeing all the size and pattern variations. The Safari adult was a childhood favorite of mine, and I adore the CollectA cubs. I love that AAA sitting one, so graceful!

Fun fact! The German Zoologist who named this cat in 1776, Peter Pallas, incorrectly assumed that Pallas's cats were the ancestor of modern domestic Persian cats!

VW?.. I mean the Safari big models 904003 or 904103. There is a cub too, the 904203. :)

Yes, those three you mention are the Vanishing Wild series family. I do not have those models. I have only these 2 from Safari.

Oh I would love to have the entire series! I have several wolves (many variants if the gray female), and a few other odds and ends (a lion cub, gorilla female, giraffe calf and male, etc.). They just aren't quite the priority for my collection at the moment. But as I come across them in garage sales, thrift stores, or ebay lots, I keep them.

I remember well when I bought the kitty a long time ago, it was like a dream, my first snow leopard!

I love those sorts of fond memories. :)

facts: They have many special anatomical features
"Tree tigers"  can hang from branches with their hind feet, and are the other cat alongside the margay that have flexible ankles to climb head first down trees, and they have the largest canine to body size ratio of any cat! They have an extra wide gape too, to accomodate for such.
