| That is a Kaiyodo Yamipikarya (hope I spelled it right...) It is theorized to be a subspecies of the clouded leopard in Japan. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Nice pics again Paige - rogerpgvg wrote:

Funny thing indeed, My tiger tribe is about the same size as Paige's and we only have three in common. The laws of the jungle are impenetrable |

| I have always felt that this is the neat thing about collecting and collections... they not only reflect a person's taste or interests despite there being numerous options available (in this instance with tigers), but it also reflects the experiences each have had (opportunities to add certain things to their collection; whether that be common or rare pieces, for expense or for cheap...). :) Next, my Tibetan blue bears and sloth bears! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Fact: Tibetan blue bears are the rarest subspecies of bear today. Unfortunately, due to lack of information, we don't have population estimates for conservation status... but we know that they are very rare and rather reclusive and shy. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. I totally agree, each collection writes its own story year after year and is not just a reflection of the owner's tastes. Not only do chance encounters have a real influence on our collections, but they acquire their own personality, which even ends up influencing us. And that's really interesting! Nice bears |

| Asiatic black bears! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]fact: these bears often break off smaller branches and lace them in a nest like structure to make a platform that will support their weight while feeding on fruiting trees. They then leave these large structures behind (sometimes to be used again, or other animals may inhabit them), and popular trees to feed on will have multiple large nests! _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | A great collection! Seemingly kind of an underrepresented species, too. |

| Aaaaand after the moon bears... we have the sun bears! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]This is a fun story instead... I heard of a captive bear who saw sugar be placed in a cabinet and locked. The bear during a training session, unprompted, was able to open the cabinet with its claw before attending to the task at hand and the trainer! They are indeed supposed to be the smartest of bear species, though to my understanding I know of no comparative tests or parameters for this. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Nice tribes again Paige, I still don't have the Safari Ltd Moon bear but it is still in my mind About the Sun bear funny thing, I can't wait to see a comparative study, like releasing a Malay bear and a human into the jungle for a week and seeing who comes out better. |

| The Yowie bear is disappointed because the Colorata bear found the sugar stash! Thank you friends! _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Got a little behind, but what a great representation of species. I love how your customs blend into the crowd so easily, adding diversity and just being lovely pieces of art. |

| Thank you Andreas and Jill! Red pandas! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]After years of having the baby, I waz thrilled to add the K&M adult to my group a few months ago. Because of their primitive "thumb" structure on their front paws (a convergently evolved trait that unrelated giant pandas also have, both species use for handling bamboo), red pandas are considered to have 6 digits on their front paws! _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs.
