@Kiki, I generally try to stay away from the IC or WW line unless its a species I particularly must have (the wolves, coyote, etc.). All my other "jumbo" sized figures from Safari I found at thrift stores and the like and got for MUCH cheaper. :)

And now, my customized Onagers and Kiangs. Someday there will be foals to add here.

A trait for the whole wild ass/donkey family is that they actually are quite intelligent. They don't spook and flee as easily as easily as their horse cousins. They have been known to wait and assess the danger before making a decision for fight or flight (I noticed this with my own experience with wild burros). This gives them a unique ability for decision making (rather than preferring safety outright, they may gain benefits from not being as fearful as their relatives). They also can remember areas, events, and conspecifics for up to 25 years!

Thank you Jill. A while back I devoted a lot of time to customizing. I don't have much free time anymore but I have been slowly getting back into it. I have to remember all my weird tricks and unique methods.

Asian elephants are next!

Some odd facts I found: Asian elephants only sleep for aboyt 2 hours a day! And when fed certain foods, like bananas or corn, they take the peel/husk off before eating the interior!

That Papo one is very nice too! I like how the trunk is hanging straight down, not very common in elephant figures.

Striped hyenas!

I learned lots of fun things about these guys in my search for a fun fact... here are a few. They are the national animal of Lebanon! The purpose of their long fringe of dorsal hair is so that they can "raise their hackles" and make themselves look up to 30% larger! And lastly, in the region of North India, they have legends of witches and magicians using these animals as mounts and riding around on them at night to raise mischief. Sounds like a wild night to me!

e hyenas remind me of Disney's Beagle boys or Lucky Luke's Dalton brothers.

Some fun facts: camels humps are full of fat not water, when their bodies have to use those fat stores the fat gets metabolized into calories and water for the body to use. They can live 6 months on these stores without eating or drinking. They don't sweat until the temperature reaches 106 degrees fahreheit.

Love your hyenas, I think the PEC(?) is my favorite, the little guy up front, and the Play Visions! It's surprising to me there are as many striped hyena figures are there are, I feel like that's an animal not known to a whole lot of people. I feel like people are surprised to find out there is more than one type of hyena.

Also beautiful camels. A friend of mine in Australia adopted two feral camels and it's always fun to see updates on them.

It would be interresting (at least for me) if you could find time to make a comparison topic between the Mojo, Papo and the last schleich

Bactrian camels!

Some.fun facts. Their temperature can range from 34 C (93 F) to 40 C (104 F) ! This temperature swing would kill most other animals. Also, compared to other livestock they only lose 1.3 liters of water a day, when other livestock can lose 20-40 liters!

Indian Rhinos!

Fun facts: their skin is rather remarkable. It is up to 2 inches thick (5cm)! Their skin folds help regulate their body temperature as it increases the surface area for blood vessels. These folds also can hold a bit of water even after a swim, further helping the animal cool off!
