STS Painting Month - it's May- post your in progress photos here!

Hi everyone!

Our STS Model Painting month has started! It's May, so if you are waiting to start painting your project, you can do it!  

You can post any in-progress photo here on this topic. Also, if you have any questions, ask them here

I hope you are as excited as me to see all those animal figures getting new life this month

An hour or so later. After the photos, I decided I didn't like how the stripes on the cat part were coming out so have scrubbed off his bum. I haven't done anything else yet.

And what a great start it is. It's really fun to see one of these sculptures/casts being painted!

I started two because it is easier for me to paint another model while waiting for the paint on the first to dry.

Unfortunately, I forget to make a "Before pic" for the Coelodonta.

ooh wonderful, that a lovely green colour on the snake that is! and excited to see the rhino's transformation!

That cobra is already phenomenal in its new clothes and its not even done! I can't wait to see the rhino too!

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by my bravery Kiki, but I am looking forward to the next step too! I will be getting the pattern laid down and build up from there. :)

Great progress on the rhino and the snake Kiki A lovely vibrant green and a deep earthy tone. Careful not to accidentally switch paints, thought a green woolly Rhino could have some charm

And a nice start on the wild dogs, Paige, I love how they all have a different coloured basecoat now :)

Second layer, no more green Cobra and still no green Wooly rhino. Don't worry work is still in progress

Ha, I decided I may as well work on 3 complex wild dog patterns as long as I start with one. I wanted a bit of variation in my pack, so obviously, one with lots more orange than black or white, one mostly black with a little orange and white, and one mostly white with a little orange and black.

Your cobra and rhino still look great! Though... a green rhino WOULD be very intriguing!

Green Rhino ???? And what about a purple African wild dog ?

It looks like they are vintage pristine models!

But None of them are made in composition

Ha! Me too Christophe, me too!

The Coelodonta looks great so far! And I like the cobra too, it almost as a soft of lava vibe to it at its current state :)

So far for my project I have only primered it and given it a basic white coat (yes, these were two different steps). And while waiting in between layers I also took up another project to paint while I wait (a collectA red setter), but I might have accidentally focused too much on this "while-I'm-waiting-project" that that one is now almost finished... Luckily I have some time left this month to refocus on my actually painting month project haha.

I can't wait to watch some pics of the "while-I'm-waiting-project" and the "when I finish the second project" models.

The cobra is "finished".
