I'm not sure where the black markings came from on this guy

Update Time!!


Hey everyone, I've got a very exciting update about my collection to share today.  

So to start with, at the very end of November I received a message from a fellow member of this forum
letting me know that he'd seen my post about the Koblischek horses and that he had the remaining 3 that I still needed for my collection.
He wanted to know if I was interested in buying them, as he had recently moved and was selling his collection
due to no longer having the space to properly display his figures and he wanted them to go somewhere they could be fully appreciated.

Of course I was interested in his offer, so we came to an agreement and the models were shipped off to me at the start of December.
They arrived safely almost 3 weeks later.

(I'd just like to give a huge shout out to Justin (AKA "elclavo75") who I have already thanked several times for contacting me about these models,
but he really was a massive help to me in regards to getting these figures easily. Especially as they are very hard to source here in the UK and it probably
would have taken several more years for me to get them all individually.)

Now this was an exciting enough achievement on it's own to me, but then amazingly only 8 days! after I had bought the Koblischek's
(I was still waiting for them to arrive at this point) I came across a listing for the "2014 Chinese New Year Red Lunar Mustang" on eBay and I was
very tempted by it as it would post to the UK (very rare for this model) and it wasn't a bad price considering it was in it's original packaging,
but at the same time I had just spent a fair chunk of money for the 3 Koblischek's and it also hadn't been that long since I spent over £800 on the black Koblischek aswell,
so I told myself "No, It's too expensive. Just wait until you find one that's not in the packaging, it'll be cheaper"
So I closed down eBay and went to bed.
When I woke up the following morning I had received an email from eBay telling me that the Lunar mustang was now on offer for €30 cheaper than it had been the night before.
This was no longer just "Not a bad price" This was now a "very good price" and I could no longer convince myself to ignore it.
So I took the plunge and cashed out on it.
He arrived earlier today   .

Again, this was incredibly exciting for me as now it meant I only had one finale retired model to get  before I officially owned every Schleich horse made before 2023.
The 2011 "72003 special edition brown Clydesdale & wagon".

Well....By some bizarre and incredible coincidence, on THE FOLLOWING DAY! After I bought the Mustang, I stumbled upon a listing for the wagon set.
I couldn't believe it! Again, not only would it post to the UK, it was in it's box! (never opened) and it was an incredible price
(the lowest I've seen it in the box is £230 just for the model alone and this listing came to £170 including VAT & postage)
It was not one I could afford to miss out on. However, as previously stated I had spent a significant amount of money on models in a relatively small amount of time
and I really didn't want to have to spend any more. So instead I texted my dad and sent him a link to the listing and asked very nicely if he would be willing to get it for me
as my Christmas present this year. I'd already told him about the other models I'd bought and he knew this was the last one I needed to fully complete my collection,
so he agreed to get me the set.
It arrived to me yesterday.

So that's it. There are no more retired models for me to look for.
My Schleich horse collection is basically complete, all I need now is two more set exclusives from this year and the 2024 horses.

It's so funny to me that I spent 5-6 years searching for the final 9 of these rare/retired models that I needed with absolutely no luck,
only to find all of them this year over the span of just 8 months, starting with the 82140 Marbach Black Forest Stallion back in May 2023
(the first model I paid more than £100 for) to finding the final 5 within basically a week of each other in December.

One of the greatest legacies of this forum is not the visible activity; in fact, we are a relatively modest community in that regard. However, much happens behind the scenes, and that is something priceless. I'm glad that you have taken another important step in your collection with the help of another collector.
