So here are the three treasures from Helge at DTF, aren't they stunning?

Congratulations Harriet to your really GREAT addition! These photos are the best proof why I think the Kaiyodo/Shogakukan NMOJ figures are far the best plastic animal figures I ever saw :)

I was given them in a trade, but there were no booklets with them - they're from the series "Natural Monuments of Japan"
the bird is a Rock Ptarmigan, lizard Kishinoue's Giant Skink and the otter is just a river otter.

I found more pics of other animals from the series.

Wow, those are gorgeous! The coloring on that ptarmigan... It's funny though, that otter isn't too different to the one in Safari's toobs - but the presentation! Well painted, loaded with detail, and on a lovely little base. Just beautiful.

Here is the link to the complete set, I have most of them but I don't have many of the booklets. They are no longer available and some are very expensive but if you can find them I would recommend them. My favorites are the giant salamander, the Okinawa rail and the fruit bat. Actually there are none I don't like and only a few I am missing, some of the smaller bird species and some of the insects that at the time I was getting the figures I didn't want and now I can't find them.
