Yes I believe you're right, they are called bottle-cap figurines somtimes. I prefer them without the see-through base myself, one because it looks nicer and two it takes up less space on the shelf.

Doberman, I had ordered the all black one but when it arrived it was missing it's head, so I'll have to make one for it.

those are all gorgeous figures; I love the doberman (and am looking forward to getting one myself); but I'm disturbed that one was missing a head. what the heck!?! (I'm sorry, I shouldn't dwell on the negative.)

They are such lovely models! I love the dogs especially, and I think those are possibly the best representations of dachshunds I've seen. Great acquisitions Harriet!

Yes I was a little disapointed but the seller was really nice and give me a refund. So I'll have fun making a head for the dog.

I know, after I looked up some dobermans because I was interested in what colours they could have I saw the natural ears and thought "Darn! They look SO nice with uncropped ears." I can always redo it.
