| The Dik-Dik isn't the smallest antelope species, it is the Royal Antelope Neotragus pygmaeus, which is much smaller...Some Us-Zoos are keeping them, San Diego for example.
Schleich will never made a Giant Eland or a Dik-Dik, nobody without the collectors and some antelope fans would buy them, and thats not enough, to make money with these figures, the costs to procuce them would be higher than the money, which would come in through the sale of them.. |

| @Paka. Wrong. The Royal Antelope is the smallest, I recognize you to buy the book" Handbook of the Mamamls of the World-Volume 2.Hoofed Animals".
Belive me, I've seen both species at the same place, and the Royal Antelope is much smaller than a Blue duiker
Also the Giant Eland is not, nevertheless of the name, the biggest antelope, it is still the common eland, which is much heavier than the giant eland. Only their horns are bigger and longer than the horns of the common eland.
Wow, if I see now the first pictures of the first new animals of Schleich, it seems, Schleich is becoming more and more a poor barnd with poor looking, ridicoulus models...
The gorilla and the Panda are unbelivable ugly, and the present polar bears are looking much better than the new ones. I can't belive, this are really Schleich Models...
We'll see...If yes, maybe, 2012 will be the first year, I will nou buy all Schleich Animals....And as I said, Schleich is becoming more and more a very commerical company, which means, the new models are very common looking for the mainstream buyers, see the panda is soooo cute looking, or the ugly gorilla....
2012 could be the most dissapointing year for Schleich collectors since ever...

| Hopefully the photos were not well-done and turn these figurines into laughable ones.
I feel a bit sad as I have been faithful to Schleich for more than 10 years due to their quality but I have the feeling that other brands begin to do better than Schleich.
Maybe better figurines will come back.

It may be cute but look realistic. if compare to Polar Bear. Of course can't denied that WW panda is still the best among the others. |

It's not the pose I don't like, the pose is very natural - what I was thinking is that he could be a little more fluffy and thicker set, don't you think? _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| Hmm, found this on the internet, maybe this is something interesting for us collectors?
Having held The Smurfs licence for 50 years, Schleich’s sales were boosted by the recent box office hit. But there have been a number of other changes throughout 2011.
The most recent big news from Schleich was the promotion of Gary Wilmot to country manager after five years with the company. However, the team was also boosted by the appointment of Michelle Rhodes to national account manager and Laura Bull (pictured) as marketing manager.
Between them, the team has launched a number of new ranges to the portfolio. Bull explains: “2011 has been both positive and exciting, especially as it’s my first year in the industry. Schleich has seen the global launch of the new Historical Heroes line – a fine example of how we continue to bring new and exciting products to the market. This together with the additional releases to the Worlds of Nature and Fantasy has increased brand presence in terms of our retailers and our customers.”
As well as new launches, many of the existing popular ranges have also been extended. Additions have been made to the farm and wildlife lines.
Despite the nature of the figures meaning Schleich’s offering is less seasonally dependent than many brands, the expansion of some lines is beginning to place extra importance on quarter four.
Going forward, there is more to come in 2012. Bull concludes: “We will continue to invest in the foundations of the brand. And of course there will be new and exciting launches, but I can’t give anything away. Most of all, in 2012, we will continue to improve our imagery, design and presence, keeping our position as a true global player in the toy market. Appearing in the top 50 of NPD, was a significant step forward in putting Schleich on the list of any toy stockist."
Couldn't send the link, because i'm new. :S

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] That is awesome! That website has always been very early in showing pictures of the new collection I do not have an opinion about the bears and the gorilla.. I think they are pretty nice if you realise how small they are ^^ I'm still very excited to see the horses! _________________ Schleich Horse Repainting by me! | I realy hope thats not how the polar bears will look in real life Could you get a more stiff and boring pose of the adult, bad schleich! The gorilla doesnt look schleich at al, and like you said, it´s something funny with the legs. The panda looks a bit stiff to, do they realy sit like that??? I must say that my favorite schleich-panda is their first one, that one had a good pose and a live expression [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]But then again, you can never make a decision about an animal until you have it in your hands. The 2010 ostrich, I thought looks realy wierd, but when I got it a while back, I realy liked it. So we just have to wait and see. But first impression... Not good |
