Animals around your house... - Page 25 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Animals around your house...   Animals around your house... - Page 25 EmptyThu Jul 30, 2015 10:24 pm

Late last night, when I let the dogs out in the garden, suddenly they went totally, completely crazy affraid

They were jumping and snarling and barking and howling like I have never heard before !!!!
It was almost completely pitch dark, and I could not see anything through the window.

With a torch in my hand, I began to go out to see what it was, - and then I remembered that somebody say that a wolf has been seen in this area  Rolling Eyes
Well, I thought of the horses and grabbed a broom in the other hand , and inched round the house, towards the place where the dogs were making a *beeep* noice !

Slowly !!!! silent

V

I got nearer !!! What a Face

V

Lifted the broom high ! Suspect

V

Took a deep breath ...ready to roar at the huge predator Shocked

V

AND  Shocked Shocked Shocked

V

There he was  Laughing Laughing

To Susanne, we present the reward for courage. I'm not sure many would have dared to take on a wolf with a broom and a torch.

Thanks for sharing your laugh. Applause Very Happy

Thankfully I don't see them regularly, and I did release the centipede outside since the Michigan variety apparently is not venomous... but I found this little guy while cleaning the children's bedroom.  In a handy easy to move outside transport container :)

Thank you Susanne!

Whatever happened to your Hedgehog friend? I never seen one of those in the wild. I think the closest thing we have to them in my neck of the woods are chipmunks.

I think the closest related with hedgehogs you have around are shrews and moles. I don't know if they are abundant where you live but I suspect they are.
I am also sure that if Blaine see your pics, he is able of identifying them all easily. Wink

You are correct Roger! We have plenty of Shrews and Moles in my area. There is a family of cats living under my home that now and then remind of that by leaving behind evidence of their existence. (If you know what I mean? affraid )

I wrapped him in my T-shirt and carried him round behind the stables and well out into the horses' field, near a wood. And have not seen him since.
Was wondering...some 8 or 9 years ago I raised 6 little, motherless hedgehogs. Could he be one of them ? But they probably can't get that old . Perhaps a grand-grandchild ? Very Happy
And then the T-shirt got in a plastic bag and into the freezer for a week before it went in the wasing maschine . Hedgehogs often have fleas, they say Rolling Eyes Laughing

Hedgehogs are enormously charming, - make lots of funny sounds, and have the cutest little paws drunken

A couple of weeks ago I visited the nearby town, Livingston. I walked along quite busy road, when suddenly I saw a wild eagle near the road! Unfortunately, when I stopped to take a photo (with my phone), it flew farther away and it's only visible as a few brown pixels the photo XD I hope you can see something here. I think it was a Golden Eagle.
