Not spectacular?! Like Susanne said, I would freak out, and then would probably call a zoo or something.
Because they are only kept as pets here in the Netherlands, not native at all XD

Beautiful critter! Look at those toes <3 <3

Thanks for your words about my scaly visitor. Actually, I forgot that geckos are not so common everywhere. They were a daily sight during all my youth and now back some weeks to my homeland, I could see thousands of them, mainly from another smaller species. I've seen also a chameleon, flamingos, etc., pity that I haven't taken pictures. Sad

There are Ring necked parakeets in the UK as well. When I lived in London they were very common in parks and were easy to spot flying around as well. They are also found around London and there is a huge roost of about 3,000 parakeets in one of the surrounding counties.
While on holidays in Florida I also saw some feral parakeets-blue headed conures.Florida and California have the largest number and species of parakeets in the USA.

thank you Andreas! :)

both of them were easy to shoot because the first one, a female (black lines on the sides), pretended to be dead when I surprised it in the middle of my way and I released it on the side to avoid it any trouble and the second one, a young male (blue throat), felt secure behind the grave stone and did'nt move any more!..

Last weekend, I saw a caracara for the first time in 25+ years. I had to do a double take to be sure of what I saw.

Susanne, here are loads and loads of the big Vineyard snails. Every time I take a wheelbarrow load to the muck heap, I have to pick up the snails to put them out of harms way. They even invade the riding ring, so I have to go round first and save them from being stepped on Very Happy

Adam, it would have been a northern crested caracara, yes. Wikipedia mentions a population in eastern Seminole county around Lake Harney near the headwaters of the St. John river, and that's just where it was- a few miles west of the lake. I live just west of that area, and was driving over to the coast. The area is mostly wet, a mixture of marshland, dense woods, and cattle pastures from still in use to well overgrown. Not that many houses.

Susanne, it was a surprise! It looked to be a bit over knee high, maybe even mid thigh. So perhaps 2/3 meter? It was scavenging a roadkill it had pulled over into a driveway.
