I personally love that they are here, although the authorities think it is dangerous for the local fauna, I love them. |

| They are indeed very beautyful, - but as an invasive species, they can't be very popular, I suppose. They look very happy to have moved to Spain, don't they ? Thankyou for a wonderful picture Parakeets are often terribly noisy. The exception is the Splendid grass parkeet, wich is a wonderful, beautyful bird for a large aviary...they are also among the few that can be kept with smaller birds without terrorising them or stealing their nests |

| [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] They are very popular among many people, the birds bring a lot of exoticism in our cities, imagines Seville with several species of parrots, very exotic, and very nice. |

| I know the rose-ringed parkeet. They even turn up in Denmark now and then , and are considered a very unwanted invasive species, as they take the nesting places from other birds But they are beautyful, just like the monk parakeets, and parakeets are always fun to watch |

| There is a pair of Little Grebe in the lake, They make a lot of noice, - but they are very shy. But I wanted a picture of them, and one day when they were only app 30 meters away, I sneaked out on the terrase, pressed the button on the camera , and plop ! | This morning the wild geese again showed a litter of goslings Last year they had 9 goslings, and 7 survived till they could fly away. This year there are 4 or 5, and I hope that is a mores suitable number, so they all survive This first day, they are incredibly alert. As soon as I look out of the window, they hide the babies and lead them out in the weeds. Of course I don't want to disturb them, but I succeeded to get this picture through the window, - can you see them ? | We have to start a petition to turn this lake officially in Susanne's Lake National Park! What happened with the prehistoric monster? ... are these goslings out of danger? |

| Completely crazy : A little over a week ago there were FOUR pairs of wild geese with goslings So now there were 8 adult geese watching out, and I could only take a picture at a very long distance .... all in all there are 21 geese !!!!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]This afternoon I succeeded to sneak up to the window, while the oldest couple and their 6 children were resting just outside the garden [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]As you can see, one of them spotted me, - and seconds later they were away, out hiding in the weeds in the lake Isn't it incredible how the youngsters have grown ? |

| Nice to know about the demographic evolution of the Djurslands! That's a epic picture! I know you're very happy of spotting them all in a single pic. They love to be next to you. |

| What a nice flock! I have never seen wild geese in Germany, only in America - my friend hated them, because they wrecked the lawn :-) I've got something rather small to show - a bumblebee on a dandelion. There are lots of bumblebees around enjoying the flowers [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

Untill just a couple of years ago they were extremely rare in Denmark. |

| [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here we go again! Bugs seem to LOVE my screen door. Last time, it was a moth. Now, it is a Hemiptera. Leptoglossus occidentalis, this one is. In french Canada, we simply call it "punaise des pins". In English, you call it "western conifer seed bug". I have read those bugs, in fall season, try to enter houses to spend the winter in. |

| It is surely interesting to see insects in this topic. They are animals as any other and, obviously, some of them could represent important sightings. I didn't know that particular creature, so I learned something and apparently, it was never made in toy shape or I can't find any reindition of it. |

| Geckos at home is not a spectacular news to anyone, I guess. The silly part is that it is not a secret to anyone my poor sight and I grabbed it and commented: - "What does one of my XX lizards in my bathtub?" It started kicking and I got surprised. Oh, it was a wonderful Moorish wall gecko (Tarentola mauritanica! Despite its regenerated tail, it is a wonderful specimen and I measured it from nose to tip of tail around 14 cm. Before taking it back, carefully to a big wall in front of the building I live, I could take a few pictures. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |
