| Those are very interesting figures, Fernando! I'd loved to see a comparison picture of the beaver if it is possible. Anyway there is something in this set that I'm not understanding. We have an American black bear, a raccoon, the beaver even you are saying that it is an European beaver it would be certainly an American beaver. Those are normal in a North American set. The lynx you are identifying as an Eurasian lynx, I agree with you but in America there's only the bobcat and Canada lynx, it should be one of them. The badger is not an American badger, I'm sure it is a Eurasian badger what also makes not sense in a North America set. Sorry if I'm being bored but something is not correct here! The raccoon as a irreverent looking! Congratulations! :) |

Roger: You are correct .This set was sold by tgftoys how
" North American Collection Bag Set" and the names that I wrote, are print in the figures. Not precision in the names.
Do You need picture comparative of castor and ????
Dlfrogman: The seam around is union of two parts. Because is cheaper make two molds: head and body. Those animals are not expensive.
Ken yeo: Thanks,lynx is striking.

Interesting to know that hte names were in the figures. Maybe you can make a comparison picture with the raccoon with Schleich raccoon, I know it is easier for you! :) Thanks! :) |

| WILD REPUBLIC is a huge AMERICAN brand aimed at the zoo giftshop market origionally and now spreading out in to mainstream toy shops. The animals are sold as North American,- where the company has most of its market- but yes remember the Chinese sculptor IF he can see them live at his local zoo or in a local museum is looking at EURASIAN ANIMALS, so anything that exists in both Europe and North America will end up probably being the EUROPEAN VARIANT, Its also much commoner to have the European animals pictured in books so again refrences will be easier. I think NAYAB is making these now for WR , before DOSCO was making them, some are outright AAA copies. Others like the bear can be found as brown, black or polar species with a repaint! Ive bought a lot and repainted them- to get rid of the nasty mould lines is usually quite easy, 1st either gently dremmel it back or sand it down, then get " greenstuff " , smear it around where the mould line was and then blend it in very well, if its still high then sand off a bit when dry. On most figures its now disapeared! Most of the animals have textured coats and when you copy the texture into the still wet greenstuff , especially on animals like the maned wolf, tigers, mandrills, musk ox, lions blending the mane lines or fur scores into each other etc then it becomes invisible . Or go the lazy way and just paint in ruffs of fur in layers and that hides it too, adding stripes on the zebra , bongo, over the mould line or bigger than usual blotches on the giraffes works well. Apart from the terible paint jobs some are nice figures! |

| Since it's not apparent in the photos, I'd just point out that these are MUCH larger than Schleich scale, pretty much all have visible seams and some are even hollow. I'd take care to avoid the whole series unless you absolutely have to have larger models. That said the Britains-scale Wild Republic animals can be brilliant... |

| Excuse me forum. I not showed sizes. Are large figures. And is important because many brands make animals in scale and lynx for example is small. This is my bigest lynx. And speaking of colors, roberelephant is right, sometimes bad paint but in my case ,the raccoon is painted beautiful. here comparative size with mojo figure: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

That's nice, welcome! :) Thanks Roger - yes, long time lurker still working on that new member intro post Thanks for the extra photos Fernando - that should help folks see how huge these things are compared to most and how dodgy some of the paints and models are. I love how the badger and lynx are absolutely European versions yet in a North American set! I agree some in the series are not too bad and that WR makes some real hidden gems in other scales. I just was really disappointed in the large-scale bags. |
