Me too, very happy with your news! Sim Rogério! Aqui no Brasil é mais conhecida como suçuarana, onça parda, onça do cerrado, ou já ouvi até mesmo o apelido carinhoso de diabo vermelho! Abraços! |

I know about the argument that specialized poses reduce playability, but all the same I do wish they'd be a little more inventive. _________________ Stuff you should be reading:

Thanks Sumo and Susanne! I know how Mojo works and they will consider construtively iyour critics about the pose! But, I must show my point. Even before know Mojo brand, walking poses were always my favorite. Mainly for predators! ...and these walking poses are all very good! I understand you, mainly when we are bombarded with figures standing and looking left or right sides. But, for example, I don't mind when I see this pose in figures like the Mojo gazelle or CollectA waterbuck because they are species not commonly produced. Also think about Mojo walking lion, how many walking male lions we have in the market? I must also say that I'm very happy that Papo decided to make a walking gemsbok or CollectA a walking female sable, I really like them in that way. Only a last comment about walking poses. Check again this picture and see how lynx and puma's poses are walking but clearly different. The lynx as much more tension, erected tail, well distanced legs that goes very well with its concentrated facial expression. The puma is in a more graceful walking pose that goes very well with her calm and sweet face! - Abu Rai wrote:

Joan and Smithboy, I'm glad you found it interesting, usually Summer in Northern hemispher is very uninteresting in terms of hot news about the brands but this year all rules were broken!

Can't wait to rework the whiskers,... Maybe one can even "subspecies-paint" it. That's exciting, making a new moustache for a lady! :) I also think this figure is very good to make some customs, I have some ideas but not the talent. Anyway this one is very special and will keep surely untouched.
okay. so what would you change? i really like roger ideas and opinions. I totally agree to what you said about the poses,..when i look at some of the mojo cats, i feel like being hunted,....On the other hand, if you have all of them, this similarity is a little obvious. But tiger and leopard aren't that good so lynx, panther, lion and puma are enough to have |

| I'm sorry but this puma looks awful, the head lacks the characteristc round shape and the rear legs should be longer and more muscular, which is another characteristic of this cat. There are tons of pictures of pumas, I don't get why it has such big inaccuracies. Look at Papo's puma, that has accurate proportions. |

I think that only the good figures deserve customizations from talented members like Philip! Your idea with the lion was excelent. I think Roger's idea was to turn this young lady in a mature male. I'll discuss the details with you. - STORMnl wrote:

Martien Mojo has a huge respect for collectors. It is not good for such a young brand to show its products in such an early stage but I know James do it because he has a huge admiration for STS members! I'm sure that as soon as Mojo has a preview of new prehistoric mammals they will show it. |

Look at Papo's puma, that has accurate proportions. You don't have to feel sorry. It is nice when a member takes his precious time to see what is wrong in a figure. I appreciate it. Although I had the chance of measuring all the proportions and you it made me remember why I like so much Mojo figures. There's no exagerations or caricatural styles according with waves or fashions. Have you noticed the harmony of the several elements of the figure or how they walk elegantly with the legs under the body and that they are not spreed but axially in line with the body? About measurements, Mojo figure has back legs longer than front legs and curiously Papo has them roughly of the same size, notice that Papo figure has front legs very spreed what makes them look shorter. Also Mojo represents a young female so an exagerated muscular expression doesn't makes sense. I know many people also love the Papo lion with its large head and exagerated muscles but it doens't mean accuracy. But I also like Papo puma although there's no harmony between elements, compare head and paws ratio with a real one. Like you, I was a boy from Ninja turtles and Power Rangers generation so I also have a tendency to like muscular exagerations but as a good Mexican you are you know that not every large hats are sombreros! |

Papo is better. Yes, I think the same, Papo puma is better, the only problem is the small head. The Mojos puma has slightly big head with really childish painting. I think the painting is the biggest pain of most Mojos (I can judge only from photos, I have no Mojo in my hand) - the best example is the leopard figure, the excellent shape with completely odd "psychedelic dots". Head of another very well shaped Mojos big cat, male lion, can be painted better too... Regarding all the big cats: There is generally (shape+painting) at least one generation difference between Papo and "rest of the world" |

Regarding all the big cats: There is generally (shape+painting) at least one generation difference between Papo and "rest of the world" Thanks Jarda for your imput! I also like Papo puma painting although most people don't like it! About the sculpting... not at all! Do you know, some years ago, the painting of Papo cats were not as good as they are now. Less detailed, more basic colors and mainly very glossy! Mojo paintings have an excelent mat finish never seen before although the brand find some difficulties with complex painting layouts. I believe the brand is in the right way and with your passioned opinions will turn better and better. :) I only hope Mojo, in next generation, doesn't make a lynx like Papo one once I think it is one of the worst cats still in production. Not even a cheetah with brown spots and red eyes, a leopard with a large white patch arround the eyes or a jaguar with leopard shape. I can find good and bad cats in all brands, I try always to be impartial and refuse any kind of brand devotion. I don't have any problem saying that Papo tiger and lioness are better than Mojo's as it is not a problem of accepting that Papo puma and lynx are better than Papo's. Anyway you can put your input in MOJO FB, I'm sure someone will read your opinion. :) |
