My German Shepherds - UPDATED :)

Most of my collecting efforts are geared towards model horses, but canids come next. Wolves, foxes, you name it. :)

And among other canids, my small pack of German shepherds holds a special place.

They make a beautiful group picture, I am not very used with dog figures, it would be great if you could name the brands.

What brand is the one third from the left? Great picture, I have a "family photo" like that of my Shepherds.

These are wonderful, I love the Schleich German shepherd standing on the right (second in). The old lying down one is rare isn't it? Your's is in beautiful condition, congrats! I would love to have that one some day.

They're all made by Schleich (in fact, it should be the complete collection of all Schleich German shepherds made so far) - except for the third one from the left, which is a female German shepherd made by Papo.

They are all in mint, flawless conditions, because I personally picked (I'm a fussy collector ) and bought each of them from shops when they were first made. The oldest model is the the 5th dog (from left), which was introduced in 1987 and discontinued in 1999. I bought her in the early '90s.

The second oldest is the lying dog (1994-2003) and the third oldest is the standing dog (2nd one from left), which was sold between 1999-2003.

Lovely Shepherds! All of them are great. I like the first one to the left a lot (the most recent female Schleich I think?) and the Papo Shepherd is also a favorite of mine.

Thanks. And yes, absolutely. In fact, I'm currently waiting for my first Safari German Shepherd. If the quality is good, I'll get the other Safari German shepherds as well. And I want to find out if other brands make size-compatible German shepherd figures. :) The more, the merrier!

I've always thought the newest Schleich German shepherd isn't as good as his predecessors. His proportions are a bit unnatural. Or maybe he needs to go on a diet.

Thanks for adding all these pictures and informations. My enthusiasm about them is growing a lot. No, I don't mean that I'll collect them but everything looks much more interesting to a non collector of dogs like me.

You've kept them in beautiful condition all these years, congrats. Unfortunetly any of the schleich my dad bought me back then was played with by us kids, so they have a few rubs.

Here is the newest pack member, a female puppy made by Safari. :) I can't wait for the new safari GSDs!

That's great! How can a standing figure can have a playfull looking.
Here is an example how to give life to a figure without complex poses.

What also is very interesting, is that everytime I compare a German Shepard with a Wolf, their characteristics come closer and closer, which results how wolfs domesticated in to dogs, hmm.

I take them from this change scheme:

Wolves --> Huskies --> Dingoes --> Shepards

Hmm, I think there is a pattern somewhere
