| Does somebody have more info about more Mojo releases in 2015? They're not answering the messages in facebook page that are asking about that. I wrote them some days ago, also Florian have asked on Simmental cow thread, and there's no answer (when a later question have it) _________________ Joan Likaon Wildlife Models Shop my handmade models: http://bestiari.weebly.com/ my models in facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bestiari.animal.replicas[/center] |

I have seen however some cows which I assume must have been Dutch Belted cattle, very cool tapir colours they have We call them Oreo cows. Haha! Oreo cows! As a little kid, I was always ever so proud to recognize and know the name of this this breed of cows. Here we call them "Lakenvelder". And "Laken" means blanket. So they were easy to spot, even for me as a little kid, because it did look like someone just threw a white blanket on a cow's back. Hahaha, Oreo cow That's cute! OK, so they are called Lakenvelder, thank you for the info!! _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection

OK, so they are called Lakenvelder, thank you for the info!! I can't stand not to reply Oreo cow, I'll call them so too in the future, I really like that name The breeder of the Lakenvelder breed was a dutchman called sir Korthals. He wanted his son to improve the breed, but his son decided to do dogs. He created the Korthals Griffon, or wirehaired pointing griffon. We have that breed at home. Korthals' son got bankrupt and develloped his dogbreed with French money and German dogs. Many people say it is a german breed, because of the german bloodlines. According to the breedstanderd, it's a french breed. I think it's a dutch breed because Korthals was dutch and I think the other two countries own enough breeds already _________________ Christina |

| Ha, we've called them oreo cows here for a long time. I remember learning in a class once their real names and thought that Galloway was much less exciting than oreos. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. After hearing all these things about Oreo cows I almost feel tempted to paint the Simmental Mojo cow in the colours of the Lakenvelders, what do you think? Or should I first make regular Simmental cow colours? Or the model doesn't suit the breed because of the too long horns or other reasons? |

Galloway are more stocky, with longer, shaggier fur, and as far as I know, Galloway don't have horns. Also, I was going to point out that not all Galloway are belted. Many come in a dun color, or even completely white or black. The Dutch Belted breed is also black with a white middle, but they have short fur with small horns. That might work a little bit better. |

| you're right cattle collector, there are two types lakenvelder, the Dutch typical small round horns (for that matter my hongkong / Cresent perfectly correct) who has more dual purpose / milk type. and you have the american belted galoway rougher with her, without horns and much more meat type.
ana, you cow is the perfect cow in the alps, I think there is great a pinzgaur, Gelbvieh, create Montbeliarde or brown swiss of even a ayers hire could.
I love you cow, she only has some big horns for a Dutch cows. in Netherlands think most horns as fast as they come out, the weather is bad we will as soon as possible inside. they say that the size of the horns coming through breeding and feeding. in the alps young cattle is high in the mountains where the grass less nutritional value (protein / petals) and has more structure (stems). in the Dutch polders get the calves just more protein and less structure.
Besides, most cows are dehorned nowadays, so they do not injure each other and the farmer as soon |

Yes, yes, Cattle collector, indeed I didn't think about the Galloway cow but about the Dutch Belted that's what I called Lakenvelders You are right that Galloway look completely different with their longer fur and lack of horns. That's noticeable even for a person like me with very small knowledge about cattle breeds. - klompenboertje wrote:

Yes, as far as I can see on photos they are mostly hornless or with very small horns. So, maybe not this time. But if I would choose one cattle breed for my collection I suppose I would want a Lakenvelder breed (not on the Simmental cow mold thought) So, I will review the breeds you proposed to me and will try to choose an interesting colour version _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection

| So there are some wild animals for this year... maybe they havent posted much FB because they had the convention? I hope theres more. It may just be the angle, but the elephant calf looks weird to me... And the elephant adult looks better at that angle and in a "real life" photo. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | That new elephant is actually really nice looking.. His legs and head are more realistic than for example Schleich models has. Thanks Bryan! I think those huge cards for Mojo minis are just waste! _________________ Jonas Animals are my friends. I don't eat my friends. |

| I continue thinking that this elephant is a step forward in the right direction. Not perfect but much closer to a real elephant than what we are used. These cards are a waste of resources, I agree but they allow that these figures can be sold in several different places, much harder to steal and it serves as a protection towards kids, we all know how hard is to find a Mojo figure in good condition in some shops where kids are allowed to play with them. IF was not these cards, they needed a tube, a bag or any other kind of protection to be transported so it doesn't represent anything so bad. :) |

| That's a good question! Last 16th I left a message on their FB page: Hello! Is there going to be any more releases, specially in Wildlife? Thank you! Joan and Florian joined the question, but there was no answer till now. So, I think this is it. - cattlecollector wrote:

Oh well. More releases would be appreciated, but we've gotten some decent models from Mojo anyways. |
