Now, a huge thanks to LOON! I got several amazing figures from him and all I can say is that my collection has many rare species as well as harder to get Japanese figures now. :)

I LOVE deep sea sharks, especially frilled so they were welcome additions. Any canine, wild, domestic, or even TINY is super welcome. Several beautifully detailes figures here including the saltwater croc, tamandua, tuatara, moray etc. I just can't stop looking at... really, I love them all. AND coincidentally after several suggestions I now have the CollectA barn owl.

Next is fabulous flock of frogs! I have been in need of high quality frogs for years now and these are just jaw dropping. I can't even pick a favorite as they are all so well done!

Lastly, a special recognition for the new tuatara. I have been trying to find one for some time now and I have finally have the extant member of this genus. Look at this family portrait!

Planning on doing a Taylor package review on Sunday. I was too tired before and even now... so stay tunes. :)

Roger, now you know who got the tamandua before both of us! I also wanted and asked the very wished Ikimon copper pheasant. The Papo dolphin too, but this one is easy to get from my side (online shops) and not so wished.

Could you please provide a comparison of the tuatara with the Schleich pogona ?

Wow, what a beautiful box that must have been to open with all these Japanese models! The frogs are amazing and I just love the Kaiyodo Maltese, all Kaiyodo dogs are wonderful! I love how the proportions are always good by this brand, and they always make their models look so recognisable as the different breeds! She has a very sweet face too!

Caracal, the lizard is a tuatara. It is the only living descendant of the genus that dimetrodons are also in, hence the "family portrait".

Thank you Paige, I was almost sure it was what we call "hatéria" in french language. :)

The genus Dimetrodon left no descendants, and the only living descendants of the very general wide lineage where Dimetrodon belongs, are us, the mammals, and not the rhynchocephalians.

These are so beautiful, I'd never heard of them before but they look like very good models!

Thank you my friends! The eyes make them a bit cartoony but overall the color schemes are nice and they are solid figures. An added bonus that they are the species they are! Though my prehistoric "noncollection" grows still...

This blue Dimetrodon was of my first prehistoric models in my life.

Yes, I still have this AAA Dimetrodon that was my daughter's childhood toy, purchased used perhaps 20 years ago... how many of us started with them I wonder?

As mentioned above by [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], Dimetrodon was not a rhynchocephalian and was not related to any diapsid. Dimetrodon was of course a synapsid, and that’s the group that includes mammals. The Tuatara is a reptile and is not a descendant of Dimetrodon. In addition, it is not a lizard, but is the only living member of the formerly diverse order Rhynchocephalia.
