| Congratulations Anna. The penguin tube is not very popular among us but the Wilderness tube was always very wanted among us. It has several great figures of the North American fauna. I have myself the fox, of course. |

| Dear Sts Friends:
Well, today I ordered 2 lego sets for myself. This means that my collection continues to grow, and is now at 1970, as far as models go. I'm also planning on placing a safari order soon, so we'll see what that yields. Anyway, that's all the news for now. I'll post if there's more.

| Subject: More news: this time from Tractor supply Mon May 09, 2022 10:36 pm | |
| Dear Sts Friends:
Well, it's been a while since I've posted, so here's the latest news for new additions in my collection:
The other day, I went to Hobby Lobby, and found a mojo Piglet and african elephant calf. I also went to Tractor Supply, and found two Schleich blind bags of farm animals, some of which I'm keeping. Here is a short list of the items I'm keeping.
Unidentified Schleich Calf from farm life.
Schleich 13900 Turkey.
Schleich 13828 Goat.
Schleich 13920 Llama
Schleich 15030 Parasaurolophus
Mojo Piglet.
Mojo African Elephant Calf.
There were some figures in the blind bags that I didn't keep, so I'll probably consign those. The Current total of my collection is now 1964.

I went out and about today, and managed to find a plush fox, and the following schleich figures, only one of which I know the item number of.
Schleich Giraffe Calf
Schleich Unidentified Horse Mare
and Schleich 14763 African Elephant Calf.
And that's about it for new additions, so I'll post if there's more news.

| Congratulations Anna, if you provide a good description of the unidentified Schleich you get, maybe we can help you finding the product number. Though, Schleich has loads of horses. I am also happy you got a plush fox, regardeless of the species, they always work nicely as plushes. I especially enjoy the fennecs. |

| Congratulations, more additions. I like the elephant calf number 14763 this is a very tender figure with the trunk towards the floor. |

| Dear Sts Friends:
Well, to start off for news, the mysterious Schleich horse, calf, and giraffe Calf are the figures with the following item numbers:
13945 Oldenburg Mare
13880 Angus Calf.
And 14751 Giraffe Calf.
I just thought I'd let you all know. Anyway, tonight I went to a little resale shop, and managed to find a wild republic ice age tube. I kept 5 figures from this tube, mainly the prehistoric mammals, and the cave painting. And this is about it for new additions at the moment. I'll be sure and post if there's more news though. The Current total of my collection is now 1972.

Well, it's been a while since I've posted, so I might as well tell you all about the news from my collection.
The other day, I went to the Jo Annes store in Frandor, and found three wild republic nature tubes, of which all the figures were kept. Here is a list of the tubes I found:
Fairies, Polar, and Butterflies.
I also went to Volunteers of America, and purchased a very nice plush walrus. The current total in my collection is now 2009. Also, today Dad and I ordered a papo sperm whale from ebay. And I guess that's about it for new additions news, so I'll post if there's more news.

| Cool, now you have more than 2000 figures! I think the Polar tube is very nice, most of the figures are slightly larger than the traditional tube figures. |

| Dear Roger and others:
Well, no news as far as new figures goes, but there's something I need help with: It's just this, that, when I count my collection, I'm not sure if I should include my shell collection and the statues on one of my shelves as models in the "Other" section of my collectors reference guide. What do you think? See, if I did include these, then the total number of models would go up, but, well, you see my dilemma? It's very hard to figure out. Anyway, any help with this would be great. Yes, Landrover, if you're wondering about my collection, yes, it still grows.

| Personally, with such a wide range of things you're interested in, I'd split the idea of having a collection into a number of different collections by theme, so shells are one, statues are another, Lego another, toy animal figures another, etc. If you think of it as a group of separate things with separate totals, you won't have to struggle to decide whether something's really anything to do with your figures total or not, and whether the number is getting misleading or confusing when you tell others. I don't have a database or reference record, but this concept works fine for me to divide up my collecting interested in my mind - I collect real fossils, and scale model doll's-house style miniatures, and model horses (and a few other pet/wildlife/prehistoric figures), but think of them all as totally different hobbies rather than one bulk collection just cos I own them all myself. Splitting into different totals might help you organise your collections better (although you already sound very organised, with creating your own guide, that's impressive!) |

| I agree completely with George. Real shells is a different collecting subject, it is complementar to your collection of toy animal figures but it is a different collection. However, those pvc shells by AAA or from tubes are part of your main collection. Statues also work better as a different collection, I guess. About Lego and Playmobil, it is more complex because both brands are a distinct collecting subject on their own but I think they can easily be included with your main collection too. |

| Dear Sts Friends:
Today, I got a package in the mail, which contained the papo sperm whale which I ordered recently. I'm also expecting a package from FedEx, which was delivered to the wrong address. Anyway, hopefully mom will bring it in a few days. The papo sperm whale looks great in my collection, and I hope to get more papo figures soon. And I guess that's about it for news. When the next box arrives, I'll tell you all about it.

Well, today I went to JoAnnes, and managed to find 5 nature tubes. I found the trees tube, the endangered tube, the Rainforest tube, The farm tube, and the aquatic tube. The current total of figures in my collection is now 1740. Most of the figures I kept, but there were a few I didn't want. Anyway, I'll let you know if there are any more new additions.

Today, I went to Hobby Lobby, and managed to find a Mojo Fun cat. I'm not sure which one it is, but it's one I've been looking for. Also, I talked with a good friend of mine, and he says he's sending me a large box of figures. The box will probably arrive next week, so hopefully I'll be getting more new stuff soon. Also, I'll be placing a Safari order next month, so we'll see what that yields. Anyway, that's about it for news, so when the box arrives, I'll tell you all about it.

| You know what I think? I think those animal toys are not just good for seeing people, but also for the sight-challenged people. Why? Because, with them, sight-challenged people can observe, with their hands, the exact shape of those animals, animals they may not be able to observe otherwise (there are animals we don't meet everyday at the corner of the street); it is while touching a sperm whale toy that a blind person can imagine exactly what a sperm whale looks like: the wrinkles on its skin, the extremely thin jaw, the long, big nose... I think it is wonderful to have those three-dimensions replicas. Don't you think? |

| Dear Bowhead Whale and Others:
Well, all I can say is: You definitely have right idea there. And yes, you're right, about the idea that animal replicas do help sighted and blind people. I mean, think, I've probably spent thousands of dollars for my collection, but hey, it's worth it to me, if it means storytelling capabilities. You see what I mean? Anyway, I've decided to send the papo sperm whale I had to consignment, because it had a movable jaw, and I am not a fan of animals child dinosaurs with movable jaws. Oh well, hopefully next week I'll have some more new additions. Also, just so you know, I'm placing an order for the jungle emperor, ice giant, and laa smasher at the end of this month. And I guess that's all I have and news. If there's an more, I'll post again, and tel you more.

| Subject: Information wanted about the Safari Ltd Creatures of the Deep Collection. Fri Jun 17, 2022 11:49 pm | |
| Dear Sts Friends:
Okay, first, tonight I went to Hobby Lobby and managed to find a mojo tree frog, crocodile, and giraffe calf. The current total of my collection is now 1759. Anyway, all this is sort of beside the point of this post. What I really need is any information about the safari Ltd creatures of the deep collection. Anyone who has information about this collection, please reply to this post. Also, I saw a listing on ebay for a Safari Ltd Glass squid. So, if we're making a database of all the toy animal figures ever made, well then, I think a glass squid page should be created, because, if Safari ltd made a glass squid figure, then it must be out there on ebay somewhere. See? You get my point, right? Yeah, yeah, I know what you're thinking, that my explanation was long and boring, but hey, I'm just trying to explain what I mean, okay? Well, hopefully you all understand. As for other news, as far as new additions go, I'm still waiting for the mysterious box of figures from a good friend of mine. Also, the box hasn't arrived yet. Also, I'm still waiting for my Safari Order too. Well, that's about it for news, so I'll post if there's more.

| Hi Anna, I have the Creatures of the Deep collection and the glass squid. The glass squid does have a page; it's number is 688104 and it's part of the Deep Sea Toob. You should be able to find this toob on ebay. It is an interesting toob, and the Creatures of the Deep are like large examples of a few of the figures.
There are 6 figures in the collection- the black loosejaw, the dragonfish, the viperfish, the hatchetfish, the anglerfish and the gulper eel. The hatchetfish is the most like a conventional fish in appearance; its deeply sculpted scales should provide textural interest. The black loosejaw, dragonfish and viperfish are all similar in shape, long and skinny with gaping mouths and big pointy teeth. The viperfish also has a long filament extending from it; this is the lure it uses in hunting. The anglerfish is perhaps the weakest model to me, although the general shape and construction is okay. It should have a lure also, but doesn't. You might like the more accurate new CollectA anglerfish- it even has the tiny parasitic male attached. The gulper eel (also called a pelican eel) is the most interesting one maybe. It has a long snaky body, tiny eyes, and a REALLY huge mouth that can expand to engulf prey almost as big as it is.
This set can be hard to find, but maybe you can find them on eBay. I bought mine from a forum member. |

| Dear Pipsxlch,
Aha, so there are only 6 figures! I thought the glass squid was one of them, but apparently not. Anyway, I'm planning on getting the deep sea creatures toob at some point, so it's all good there. About the collectA anglerfish, that one is on my searchlist, so I'll be on the lookout for that one. No news as of yet about any boxes coming in the mail, but hopefully this will change soon. Thank you so much for answering my post, and for clarifying about the deep sea creatures. By the way, great descriptions.

| Dear Sts Friends:
Well, a box of figures arrived from a friend of mine today. I must say, I wasn't very impressed. I might keep a few of the figures, but most of them are going to the consignment shop. So really, I'll be keeping about 5 or 6, but that's about it. Like I said, not a very impressive batch. Oh well, at least I got something. I'll let know what I'm keeping once I figure out what it all is as far as brands go. Well, that's about it for news, so I'll post if there's more.

| Anna, congratulations for all your new models. Kelly's descriptions are really excellent and it is also good that you mention it. I don't know if you have the AAA Bottom Feeders figures, they're not much different from the Safari Ltd Creatures of the Deep. Maybe Kelly can confirm it better to confirm if it really worth to get them if you already have the AAA versions. I also recommend the new CollectA model, it is out of this world. |
