PostSubject: Re: Gecko08’s Collection & Recent Acquisitions   Gecko08’s Collection & Recent Acquisitions - Page 16 EmptyWed Feb 24, 2021 6:23 pm

Back to the theme of dinosaurs, a package from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] just arrived.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Here are all the figures in the boxes.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
First off, the 1:25 favorite co Concavenator corcovatus. This is a gorgeous figure only sold in the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum during the 2012 Dinosaurs of Spain exhibit. It is very rare and I am still looking for the Pelicanimimus sold with it. But I was lucky enough to find this excellent figure for $22 American dollars.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
The next two are more common. This is the Pteranodon Scramble mini diorama from favorite co. It was released in 2017 and the pterosaurs are removable. I think that I have identified the species.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
This is (I think) a female Pteranodon Longiceps or a male Pteranodon sternbergi (aka Geosternbergia)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
This is probably a male P. Longiceps. As for the fish, I don’t know.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
And here is the Tarbosaurus baatar. In 2012, favorite co released an extremely rare and expensive Tarbosaurus for the Osaka Museum. But in 2020, Favorite co released a new Tarbosaurus for a cheaper price. And since this is 1:40, I had to get it.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
So a big big big thanks to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for these amazing figures!

Also I used my phone to take a closer picture of the fish if there are any fish experts on this topic who can identify it.

Fantastic prehistoric models. The mighty raptor of Cuenca. Laughing
Safari is the king of dolphins, so many species.
Are the flippers of your Animal Planet moveable? I think it is the Chap Mei model that used to be sold with a loggerhead sea turtle and many other things.

This is a bit off topic but this person on YouTube: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is a great animator. This channel posts animations of prehistoric life, mostly Spinosaurus.

Thanks, it is from the time when Animal Planet sets were composed of Chap Mei figures.

While not necessarily toys, my die cast Jurassic Park Ceratosaurus and Triceratops do make interesting display pieces.

Here are my extinct Cenozoic figures! I seem to have misplaced my macrauchenia from the Safari Ltd tube. I will find it someday.
First off we have some 1:30 Eskimo and Caveman figures from Safari Ltd.
[url=https://servimg.com/view/20242300/581
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/url]
Gastornis from Safari. 1:28
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Unitatherium from an off brand company. 1:50
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Doedicurus from Safari Ltd. 1:30
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Megatherium from Safari. 1:120
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Smilodon and Caribou from Safari Ltd. Both 1:40
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Basilosaurus from Safari Ltd, 1:180
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Mammoth, Doedicurus, and Arsinotherium from Safari. All 1:70
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
And here is my last photo at 1:18 scale. Dodo bird (Character Options Primeval), Smilodon fatalis (Wild Safari), and Titanis walleri (Lanard Toys). Bird can come in all shapes and sizes.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
If there is one thing to take away from this, it’s that I need more Cenozoic figures.

I went to the Exploreum in Mobile, Alabama today and got lots of goodies. All of these figures are from Safari Ltd. They have an excellent gift shop. And these are extremely accurate.
Pachycephalosaurus wyomingensis: 1:22
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Stegosaurus stenops: 1:30
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Dilophosaurus wetherili: 1:40. Jurassic Park is wrong again with this creature. It portrayed a big predator as a diminutive spitter. But according to the Jurassic Park canon, the Dilo seen attacking Nedry was a juvenile. But the venom spitting still isn’t accurate.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Triceratops horridus: 1:40
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Why not stage a showdown between Triceratops and its arch nemesis (as the movies would make it seem), T. rex. I’m sure there are a lot more original scenes I could stage with this figure, but this is the first thing that comes to mind.
