| Oh, surely I love this group more than any other. OK, using winking pink foxes is an unfair game of seduction. I love that some of them are very loved ones, I just hope you're not using your dogs to pretend you're hunting foxes. Great Britain is very known because of that tradition and it is even heavily represented in this hobby. Yes, never use the eraser or you'll erase the eraser. |

| Thank you Roger! Don't worry, I think the dogs and foxes are friends- hopefully! And I definitely won't erase the eraser! |

| Great variety, as usual! They look like a very friendly lot, or are they sly? |

| Truly wonderful group my friend! Excellent collection. I like the (eraser?) one especially. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | The Papo fox is my favourite, I think his pose is great, and the proportions just the closest to the foxes I see. I think companies tend to make them very bulky, like they've got extra thick winter coats, which ours don't have here (a winter fox is just a bit plusher and less shiny than a summer one, not much longer haired). British foxes look slimmer, and taller/longer, just cos they're not carrying such depth of fur, so my favourite model is the one which looks long and lean rather than chunky and fluffy. He's the one I keep being really tempted to buy (and repaint) |

I love the Papo fox too, it is a beauty! I completely agree about British foxes too, they're always much slimmer than most of the fox models I see, and some I've seen here are actually very small and look more like cats! I'm guessing that the fluffy/ chunkier look is more appealing to children, but I agree that it would be nicer to see more fox figures like those we see in the UK! |

| I think most collectors would favour native-species models which look like our familiar local ones, and the same must go for the designers at each company - so Schleich foxes aim to look like German ones, and Breyer copy American ones, and so on. I can't find any actual confirmation on my idea that continental-europe foxes are different to ours, so I think it must be a coat thing - colder weather, fluffier foxes? But I did find this page with a good thorough description of American vs European fox populations, which is a long but interesting read. |

| I agree, it definitely must be down to brands basing their models on their native foxes! Thanks for the link too, it was really interesting! |

| So many foxes. The best models are still from Papo. They look very authentic. But you definitly need a Fennek |

| And the final post of my collection topic: wolves! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] It has been a joy to share all the non-dog animals of my collection with everyone here, thank you so much to everyone who commented along the way! I remember my first collection post and feeling so new here on STS, but now with so many kind members I feel as if I've been here for years! This part of my collection will probably never change from now, as I am now only a collector of dogs, but I will still treasure every single animal figure! I'm going to update the first post now to make a sort of contents page, listing each group of animals and what page you can find them on for this topic! I am planning on starting my dog collection topic at some point too, I'm about to get really busy with school but I'll see when I can fit it in! I hope you enjoy the last post and as usual any questions please ask!
