| I got an interesting and strange looking animal - not sure what it is meant to be? It reminds me of some kind of prehistoric mammal perhaps? along with some friends [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and a very nice red fish! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]some birds, the 2 on the left are a little big for my 1/32nd scale, but the emu and cassowary can fit it [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and a very old celluloid type dog. It was blacker when I first got it, then after it's deep cleanse bath and scrub it now sports a shinier coat [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Congratulations! Lots of great items. The manatee relative, the dog! That fish is prehistoric too. I got one in a cheap tube once and tossed thinking it was nothing special. Then a young member here who specializes in prehistorics educated me that it is a prehistoric shark(?) if I remember right! I have been looking for one ever since to relieve my sense of stupidity. Congrats on all Annette! **EDIT** Its a spiny shark! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]_________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Thank you Roger, I checked out that page. So that's why it is so beautiful and unusual! What an amazing world this is What company is it made by? There is nothing I can see on it. - landrover wrote:

Congratulations Thank you Fernando, yes I've seen similar types of little dogs like this, so I reckon it is around 1950s? or later. It has great detailing on such a small model. What do you know about this prorastomus figure? - Saarlooswolfhound wrote:

**EDIT** Its a spiny shark! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Thank you very much Paige! I am sure another one of these beautiful little spiny sharks will make their way to you. It is very substantial and doesn't resemble a cheap type figure. Are these quite recent then if you got one in a tube? as to me it looks pretty old, like 1960/70s. |

It looks like the PEC but both you can see on TAW are supposedly marked, I guess. Though, I don't own any of them, the PEC is basically a copy of the Play Visions figure. |

| I hope I can find another someday Annette! I think these models are old mould reused a lot, like other "chinamal" type sets they are copies of something. I have gotten several versions of other fish in the set in various types of plastic and paint/finish. I just recently got some that are old enough in style to be contemporary of the original figures, but have one I customized and another waiting to be that are much modern in style. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. post a pic of all those fish here for me Paige, that way I will know what to look out for if I see any here. I collect some models of fish, not all though, so as long as I know the ones you are wanting I can keep them in mind. |

My PV reindeer does not stand on her own at all, alas, she has very unsteady legs. me neither Jill, those cats are incredible and the seller knew nothing about them, except that they got them 10 years ago and can't remember where. yes the lizards are beauties! I think one is a komodo sorry to hear about your reindeer. The material of these is different from my pv oryx which are rather flexible and soft. This material is pretty good, harder, firmer. Especially suited for antelope and deer! |

| Fantastic additions! The cats are indeed wonderful, great find! I don't know what the lead cat is. I don't know much about the Britains lead era, but my impression is that your cat has a different style. Great pose! Do you know the brand of the reindeer on the left in the second photo? It looks similar to the plastic Hausser Elastolin. It's useful to have versatile figures such as the baby reindeer/musk ox that can represent more than one species. The ermine weasels and NTC hare: Amazing, especially for such tiny figures. - Jill wrote:

You could try to put something between its legs and then leave it for a couple of months. It might stand up after that. Another solution (which I learnt from George) is to put some bluetack under its feet. |

I don't think it is a Britains but it is very well made and exceptionally heavy for it's size. It came to me in that colour. The reindeer came from Cody and he said this about it - The light colored reindeer is by Phidal, they are make kids books, and some of them have figures with them. I found it at a book store, Barnes & Noble, and thought you might like the reindeer. Here is a link to the book on Barnes & Noble's website. I could not find it on Phidal's site. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]incidentally I have bought a couple of those book+animal sets from my local Morrisons a few years ago. They were around £5 I think. I've only seen the reptiles and African set (from memory) |

| I've got a few Phidal animals, but wasn't aware of the Arctic book. Strange that it isn't on their website. Would you mind taking a closer photo? I wonder whether I should try to find it. |
