- Arrived yesterday from Jean-Louis, a friend of our french forum. I don't collect compo or mass models but as he proposed them to me at Schleich-like prices, I could not resist! I was dooling from a long time in front of the stag and the yak which are according to me, with the eland, the oryx, the wisent and the sable antelope, true monuments among animals figurines. They are all from Lineol fourth generation except the lynx which is from Elastolin. I hope Christophe will confirm because I am not a mass/compo models specialist!
Exactly Sir Congratulation Alain and Hurray for Jean-Louis I will show mine soon |

| Oh, getting these for the price of Schleich models is a chance one can't miss. I also call these IV generation models, those you mentioned an a few more, as monuments. The right word to describe htem. I'd include the moose as one of them too and a few others although I miss it. Oh, a pity I do not visit the French forum, I'd love to steal this marten from you. |

You are right there are some other Lineol "monuments" but I do not know them well for, till now, I tried to avoid this mass production but it seems there is a plot around me, to make me to get some! |

| OK then it is.. (how to say "un juste retour de bâton" in english language?) I shall explain to you.. :)
and now I have 13 of this mass figurines on a dedicated shelf because for some of them, we can not find better in modern production (otter, beaver, stag, yak..) and I hope I shall have the opportunity to find the wisent, the oryx, the orignal or the sable antelope even broken! at a decent price. Do you have them? |

Do you have them? Retour de bâton: Backlash or blowback I would say What do you would need to explain ? It is you who said to Jean-Louis to tempt me with some Compos ? Your denunciation was not in vain, photos of your misdeeds will soon follow Do I have the wisent, the oryx, the orignal or the sable antelope ? Of course yes I bought on eBay the Lineol Beisa oryx in 2003, I was beggining my collection and I was already rummaging around for unknown and beautiful things. I never heard before about composition animals so when the Oryx arrived, I had a shock! What was it? So big? And then what is this material? I got together with myself to decide what to do next: Stop ou Encore? Was I going to be reasonable and collect only "1/32 plastic" or was I going to fall into a downward spiral? The answer, I guess, is known to everyone... |

| Yes this kind of collection surely begins by a shock!.. to find so realistic and old models with painting nivel never seen again since!.. Well you know now my eventual target: these Lineol monuments, nothing else except scarce opportunity like this one! When I write"backlash" I mean that I had encouraged Jean-Louis to collect these Lineol models many years ago since by these times, he only collected soldiers or historical figurines! I thought it was the best collectible line among animals figurines for a true collector like he was! He knows that I don't collect compo but he was nice enough to offer so ridiculous prices that I could not refuse.. Jean-Louis is a good person! |

| These composition models are fantastic. It's indeed amazing that such realistic models were produced so long ago. And a great story how you persuaded Jean-Louis to collect animal figures and then he persuades you to collect composition models. |

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] all the Punch-like wolves together what mesmerizing photos these are Alain! they remind me of the reindeer herds walking in circles! Those Blue Box ones are really interesting with their very thin legs I've never heard of Blue Box before but can I ask - so many unpainted wolves! - are you not tempted to paint them?? |

| Hi Annette! I already repainted Punch and John Hoefler ones.. in fact, Bue Box ones were sold in farm sets as dogs but as they are Punch copies, I consider they are wolves.. |
