| Sorry for the delay this time... I had to hospitalize my dog overnight and it was quite the adventure. He is fine, turns out he is just an expensive little jerk. But all is well now so here we go! Probsocis monkeys! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]fun facts! I have 2: they can only unripe fruits! The sugars in ripened fruits would further ferment in their stomachs, cause excessive gases to collect, and thus lead to lethal bloating. Also, they can swim underwater for up to 20 meters (65.6 feet)!!! _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Some Asian deer now! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Some fun facts, for muntjac deer. They shed their antlers every year like any other deer. However, their long canine teeth are a primitive feature! The only other deer species extant with this trait are the musk deer! _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | That is the ELC muntjac. Miscellanious asian primates [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Lots of weird fun facts for a tarsier. If humans had similarly proportioned eyes, they'd be as big as grapefruits! Further, they can jump in surplus of 16 feet and can turn their heads 180 degrees; useful for hunting. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | I think you mean the Mojo celebes crested macaque? _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Sorry for the delay Andreas. I am not sure in the brand of that one, it isn't marked at all. I think it is supposed to be a pig-tailed macaque(?). Now my Asian antelopes. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The name Nilgai is a fusion of Hindi words for "blue" and "cow". It is also known as the white-footed antelope. They don"t have fat layers for insulation, so if a winter is very cold then it could be fatal. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Great blue pics again Paige And now I want the Safari Monkeys toob And the PV Lion-tailed Macaque I don't think the big monkey is a pig-tailed macaque, The head of these animals is very characteristic and does not match this one. I forget to say I adore the "fun facts" |

| Thank you Annette and Kiki! Annette, the small saigas are the Joy City Ltd. Endangered Animals tube on the left, and new Safari Ltd. toob on the right. Kiki, I will defer to the experts on the monkey as I really don't know enough about them... Its a decent model however, it just doesn't match any monkey species I know of exactly to make a certain ID. I can reccomend the toob! Again, not a great monkey connosueir, so these toobs are great opportunities for me to diversify that group. The only monkeys to truly capture my attention are tamarins. Emperors are my very favorite! And thank you for the comment on my fun facts! I have been doing quick searches online when I post things just for my own edification, and I enjoy spreading the word on something new! I have learned a lot already and I am only through 2 sections of my collection with 11 more to go! _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Despite an odd coloration, this macaque looks more like a Rhesus or an Arunachal macaque than anything else. I'm going to go overboard again, but could you take some comparative photos of the two little saigas? |

| thank you very much Paige! by the way - is your doggy okay?? I just read about him at the top of this page. That would have been a frightening night? and completely off topic! but I thought I had this in my thread collection, but I don't - I am looking for the thread where you see animals in movies etc. I have a tiger to report, on the top of a monitor Can anyone remember it?? Thank you |

| I would love to Christophe, but it will be at least a week before I can do the comparison. Thank you Annette. One of my dogs is fine now (he ate a bigger chunk than he should have of a cow hoof chew I had given him) but I got the confimation that my older dog's cancerous tumor he had removed 2 months ago is already back and even bigger. So I have had one heart attack that has been resolved over Buck, but now a broken heart over the coming weeks/months ahead for Flynn and I. But, that's what you sign up for when you have pets so... On a happier topic, here are my gibbons. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]fun fact: Lar gibbons can cover a distance of 50 feet at 35 mph while brachiating (swinging branch to branch). This makes them the fastest arboreal animals that do not fly/glide! _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. Goodness me! Your dogs are keeping you on a rollercoaster Paige. Glad that Buck is good though. I've cured cancer in my rescue rabbits and my father when he got cancer so I will pm you what I did. Hope it can help Flynn. |

| Thank you Kiki and Annette. That means a lot to me. :) I am doing a slightly early upload as I will be traveling tomorrow. Malayan tapirs! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Fun fact! These are commonly considered to very primitive mammals in their features. They haven't changed externally in the last 20 million years! They are called "P'som-sett" in Thailand, it means something like tl"the mixture is finished", a word that refers to their belief this animal was made up of all the leftover parts from other animals. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | I love Malayan tapirs! I have all these as well except for the small-scale ones. I hope we can get a mountain tapir someday from a major brand. Maybe Safari _________________ Jolie

| Thank you both. :) Orangutans! Including the mandrill hybrid. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Some fun facts: They cannot use their thumbs well, so they pick fruit using their other 4 fingers and palm. They can eat over 400 different foods! These are the largest arboreal mammals, they reproduce slowly (usually about every 8 years) and they have some of the longest childhoods of any mammal! _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs.
