I'm not sure what happened with Tanni but it seems like the people at Schleich forgot to colour her mane and tail? (or add any dark shading to her in general other than on her legs)
Both models were made in China so Its strange that there is such a huge colour difference between them.

The black forest family are very nice, I like the look of all three of them. I am curious, so all the eventing horses with riders and sets come apart or are they attached permanently to their bases? The sliding horse in particular looks molded into the "dust" but also maybe like he could slide out if you wanted him to.

Yes, they all come away from the stands.
All the tack is permanently attached & can't be removed but the riders are all removable.

These three are some of the most well known Schleich horses in the German sphere (together with the exclusive Lipizzaner mare shown above). I probably like the Lusitano more in this coat colour than in his original. He is a very dynamic model and definitely has personality.
I have never thought that the Pinto stallion could be a classic champagne. He always looked like a simple liver chestnut to me. I like him but probably prefer his original coat colour as the original reminds me of one of mine main characters out of one of my stories. Rocky suits him for sure.

To be honest, I wasn't sure what to say Rocky's colour was at first.
I don't think he's dark enough to be Liver chestnut and he isn't what I'd call bay either (he doesn't have black legs for one thing)
and after looking up a bunch of different coat colours I decided champagne was the closest to what he looked like.

I'm glad Mickey is not a mouse. Actually, Diamond, which is made in Portugal, bears some similairities with the grown up Mickey. Maybe she is the fruit of an obscure adventure of this Lusitano with a famous braided mare. I just collect a few horses and I'm surprised I'm able of identifying most of these without reading what they are, it shows how famous they turned. Though, I forgot about Melody, she looks also like an Andalusian despite being a Lipi. When we miss those special editions at the time they're released, they surely will require an extra effort to be bought. I'm glad I could get the special Lusitano so there's a Diablo in my collection too.

Actually when I was a kid, my horses had "made up family's" that I would always put together and I did used to pretend that Mickey was Sapphire's dad (I didn't own Diamond at the time).
Another one of these made up family's was the 2006 Frisian mare and the 2007 black mustang stallion and their foals were the 2007 Frisian/2008 Percheron/2005 Lipizzaner (Basically all the black foals).
It wasn't until I got older and started collecting them more seriously that I changed it to having all the same breed's be part of the same family instead.

As for missing the release of the special editions, I remember my dad spending £80 total for all four of the 2012 & then another £80 again for the 2013 exclusives. Which at the time was the most we'd
(Well my dad) had to pay for Schleich. They were Christmas presents for me from my dad because of how expensive they were.

and I actually missed the 2022 exclusives when they came out and ended up having to pay £25 each for the 3 of them.

I like the shedding out foal coat on Caramel, it's a good realistic texture. Sometimes textured model horses are a little weird, like the hair is scaled too large. But then sometimes the very smooth, shiny quality if no texture is very plastic-y, so it's nice to see when a good compromise is met.

The collection of Marbach models is really interesting and seems like quite a rarity!

Actually I was expecting your preference to be the 2005 model but I wanted to be sure. It is from the "golden" generation of Schleich horses and most of these remain the nicest of their kind.
