Maia & Borges is a Portuguese compgany. They mainly make comic models.
They have made several of the Schleich sealife on licence, - the coral fish are painted in a different way : [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Very Happy

I have sometimes wondered if it is actually M & B, who painted the models from Schleich, which are " Made in Portugal" scratch

Yes, they use exactly the same models, same mould, only with MB-logo on, - at least for the tropical fish Very Happy

Arnaud, the Maia y Borges figurines "licensed" by Schleich are a series of six sealife figurines which were availabe from 1995-1996 and range in length from 12 - 14 cms.
