What is new about the forum ?

I have some constructive critique.. Don't be offended, these are just my opinions. (please don't hate me. starting a fight is the least I want to do!)
If the forum looks fine to everybody else, I won't complain.
But here are some points to think about.

I appreciate all this work you have done to this forum, but I seriously dislike those company logos under each section.
It makes the forum look very messy and sort of out-dated design-wise..
There are already so much stuff going on on this site (ads, smileys, the main banner), so the logos are sort of distracting..

Have the companies paid to have their logo put on the forum? If they haven't, are they really needed?

I like to think that in webdesign, less is more.

The second thing I want to point out is the little blue feline logos besides each topic.
They're really nice, but the contrast is too little between the ones that have new posts and the ones that haven't.
It would be easier to spot the ones with the new post if they'd have bigger difference.
I can't be the only one who usually just skims through the forum, not always focusing on everything.

Of course all suggestions are very well accepted and surely we will discuss about them.
It is nice to know that you and other members want the best possible for the forum and we can only build a great place having the widest participation.

Why the "STS logo museum" is now in section "talk about anything else"? And I see previous logos are not included? I think the idea of keeping them all in one topic to have there a kind of archive was good? :)

Anna, there are two topics, one for commenting the "new logo" [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

And one locked with all the logo since the beginning [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I hope it help We made two topics because we didn't want to see too much posts on the museum topic

Krista, I forget to answer you and I'm glad Roger did it. Our first idea about trademark logos was to replace the name and used them as link but it gave us so much problems we decided to stop. Maybe we could erased them and maybe we could make a poll about this one day... maybe in 2013.
If you have more ideas you are very welcome.

thank you for the small panthers, they are a STS testimony.
We used first a more contrasted solution but it was worse, but again if you have good things to share we agree

There is now a link to the "Animal Toy forum" in the headers, near the Toy animal wiki.

We are changing the layout of the STS forum those days. we will try to separate the new additions topics from the reviews, walkarounds, new models topics...

It will take sometimes and we hope you will understand and enjoy our new forum.

Dear moderators, what a nice new layout What would You think about such idea: in section "Animal Toy figures reviews and discussions" brands would be sorted from up to down with alphabetic order (except "Other companies" group)? :)

There are pros and cons.
We must suppose most new members are most interested in Schleich, and alphabeticly they would be near the bottom.
But would it matter ? Even for people who find alphabetic order difficult, there are the logos to help...

Honestly I'm surprised once I thought in super inspite of Schleich several times, maybe because this forum is special and super. I confess your comment makes me happy!

As you have seen, the forum organization changed a little bit on january, like every year. we hope you will use the new forum easily soon and we will make an Instruction for use about it.

But the big change is coming soon... The schleichtiersammler - STS forum will change his name and URL soon. The new name will be very original... very easy to forget... Our new forum name will be : The STS forum Well Why

Some friendly companies made a kind of cooperation with us or like our forum. It is not fair and useful to have the Schleich trademark in our name and URL.

But because we are still the same forum, we will use now the most usual name STS which means... whatever you want

The biggest changement will be the URL because your links to the forum will not work then. So we will send you a newsletter with the new url. You will have to change your favourites and links from your website. A small work we guess...
