| It was only made for one year, then they changed the painting into the one that was sold for sevaral years : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]That later one comes in two kinds of painting, one where the dark areas are solid, and one where it is almost like little dots . |

Thankyou, Noeska That horse has such a large nose that if you take the picture from the front, it will be all muzzles It is also easier to see the colours from behind, I find. Yes, it is a mad price ! The horses and dogs are the most popular though, and it was made before collecting Schleich became such a widespread hobby. Also it stands for 200 Euros in Gaschers book, - far, far more than any other figuere, so people WANT it ! (The dark beagle stands for 30 Euros ) |

Good question At first I heard 5000, then 2000, then 500, and now some say 300 in the world. But I believe the first is right, because I am stubborn (right Willy?) and because since it was made in 98 a lot of them must have been lost, eaten by pets, thrown out, eaten by children or whatever, - and they are for sale almost all the time, even if a lot of collectors in most countries cling to their hors(es) |

| I don't know if you are stubborn suzy, but there was always said that there were no more then 200 pieces of this particular pinto, which is ridiculous of course! I mailded with Norbert Gneiding of Schleich about this, and he assured me that there were much more made, although not as much as other models, because it was only made for one year. But i guess, a few thousand are left anyway, because of the reasons that were mentioned here before. Damaged by one or the other way... I knibbled my toy models to when i was a kid, and it was nice to do, but afterwards it was sad to see them damaged... |
