| This is my second Breyer model, the first one I bought was a Stablemate a few years ago - I think it is a thoroughbred, galloping pose. But anyway, I've seen this Haflinger in Daria and Rio's collection and fell in love with it. I admit I'm not really into collecting Breyer, simply because I don't really like what they're made of. BUT, Breyer have made some beautiful horses and other animals, the sculpting work is gorgeous. So here are some photos of 2012 Breyer Haflinger horse, Classic [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| A beautyful model of the modern type Haflinger Personally I like the old, sturdy, powerful little mountain horse better, but I suppose there is no need for them any more Like Iceys and - to some extent - Fjords, they are being bred lighter to satisfy the demand for riding animals. It is sad, they used to be what I would call "Small horses", now they are just ponies But, - sorry, Harriet, that does not change the fact that it is a gorgeous model Congratulations with your second Breyer |

| Congratulations, Harriet :) she is a very pretty girl indeed. There was a foal made to go with this mare, but not in a Haflinger colour, but the Pinto foal that I posted in my topic. This model, and her foal, were originally released at Breyerfest last year as Black forest horses. I would love to get the set but they are a little expensive for me at the moment. And I am the opposite to you because Breyers were my first horses, it felt weird collecting Schleich models because of the different material. The Bryer classics are my favourite scale, they have so many beautiful figures. Breyer have made another Haflinger model, but in Traditional scale, who is slightly heavier looking. | I can't fully understand why they chose this mould to make Haflinger. I mean, comparing to other Classic horses, she looks more like a small, lighter draught horse (the mould was first used to be Classic-sized Black Forest horse, after all). Next to Traditional models she looks way too tiny for Haflinger... But it doesn't change the fact she's gorgeous! :) _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

That's interesting, I didn't know the mould was originally a Black forest horse, love to see a photo of them - I actually want to get this model repainted by someone, to make it extra special, it will still be a haflinger but with a more unusual coat. I suppose it's what we're used to, I'm sure I could easily get used to the Breyer's material The Traditional scale Haflinger is cute, although the sculpting doesn't seem as nice - do you know who the artists were? _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

It's sculpted by Chris Hess, the mould is from 1979 _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| She's sculpted by Brigitte Eberl (German artist), she's quite famous among model horses collectors _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| Congratulations Harriet, I have no idea how well it goes for a Haflinger, I googled and I found many as light as this one. What I really like in that figure is the galloping pose! |
