| The model I want to share with you today is a Brachiosaurus. Brachiosaurus is one of the best-known dinosaurs amongst both paleontologists and the general public. Brachiosaurus had a proportionally long neck, small skull, and large overall size, all of which are typical for sauropods. However, the proportions of Brachiosaurus are unlike most sauropods. The forelimbs were longer than the hindlimbs, which result in a steeply inclined trunk, making the overall body shape reminiscent of a modern giraffe. Also, while the tail is a typical long dinosaur tail, it was relatively short for a sauropod. Much of what is known by laypeople about Brachiosaurus is in fact based on Giraffatitan brancai, a species of brachiosaurid dinosaur from the Tendaguru Formation of Tanzania. The length of Brachiosaurus has been estimated at 26 metres. This animal was an "actor" of Jurassic park movies and was seen on the BBC "walking with dinosaurs" serie. All the Majors have a brachiosaurus in their dinosaur line, some like COLLECTA or SAFARI Ltd have even more than one. Last year, indeed only a few months ago, PAPO produced a huge and astounding Brachiosaurus and it has already a Big fan club. So why I need to make a walkaround about a "Japanese only" small figurine ? The KINTO FAVORITE brachiosaurus isn't spectacular as a PAPO, it is even not big, the plastic is too glossy and the colors are not very… Coloured. I like very much this model because it has most of the quality of the Japanese stuff. It is a toy but it is realistic, I mean accurate, and it is made by a great sculptor Araki Kazunari. Japanese companies are making real educational toys and I think it is a great thing. Among the Western companies, only SAFARI Ltd seems to have the same goal. SCHLEICH and PAPO are great companies but, at least for their dino lines, are absolutely out. COLLECTA have a big, the biggest, range of dinosaurs but a lot of them are not very realistic… Some are really good too. MÖJO is a new brand and need to improve his dino line. I don't want to let you think I'm pessimist. For me PAPO have incredibly good dino toys, SAFARI Ltd have incredibly good dino replicas and I have great hope about COLLECTA and MÖJO. And now, let's have a look at this "not incredible" and different Brachiosaurus. Thank you to be here.

| Wow, for me this one looks really different, the way it walks is wonderful, so alive (o)): (o)): Beautiful figure!!!! Thank You for walk around Kiki! I see this model first time and I'm happy to see it Oh, and could You share one more comparison, for example with little human? I don't have any dinosaurs in my collection so Safari Brachio doesn't help me to know the size :) _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection

| That's a beautiful model Christophe! I'm not a dinosaur collector but eventually I will break down and get a Brachiosaurus (truly). It's great to see this walkaround.

| Christophe, I followed your advice very recently and got this Wild Safari Brachiosaurus. Thank you for the excellent advice. I'm extremely happy with it. It is a gorgeous Brachiosaurus sculpt. (I also have the recently retired Schleich/Replicasaurus. And I may get the Papo. Those latter two are great for size; but they've got nothing on this Safari in terms of the sculpture.) |

| I'm glad this topic was brought back and I had the chance of watching it. As you already know I agree completely about the accuracy on toys enpowering them as educational tools. I love also the movement on that figure and your walk around is excelent as always. Scott, I also want to congratulate you due to your new addition. Some topics have very good influence on our choices and I am sure the Safari figure is an excelent acquisition. Though, the non collector of dinos is getting a herd of Brachios! |
