I am waiting for the dvd "The Last Lions" (Dereck and Beverly Joubert, narrated
by Jeremy Irons). Has anyone seen it? I heard it tells a great story about the plight of lions.

But that is terrible

I did know that lions are becomming fewer, and that some sub-species are threatened, but I did not relize it was that serious
Probably it is not well-known.

You are so right, the eco-system would go completely bongo without the lions.
They keep the grazing animals healthy, - just like wolves do - taking the weak ones.
And keep the numbers down, of course.
Not like the so called hunters who go for the strongest and most handsome ones and leave the weaklings to multiply

I have a real soft spot for big cats, and I just hope that conservation efforts and education help save them from extinction!
Hopefully the Last Lions will help make people aware of their bad situation.
Also, there is a nice companion book about the movie.

Bati, I hope your hopes come true !

Today it is wonderful weather in all of Denmark
Baby-blue sky and huge powder-fuff snowy white clouds, - SO pretty ! Not very good for taking photoes though, the light changes all the time

But it does not spoil my joy for the new Papos that arrived yesterday !
Of course I have to show them to you, quality pictures or not

The eldest sow and pig, the mould is she same for the black and white sister and her baby. They seem very content to have met at last :


The boar is almost confused, - from one whife and one baby he now has several

From this picture we can see that Papo needs to make a more up-to-date boar ( sorry old boar, but you still have 2 wives )

Here the newest sow, - very elegant with small feet


Her babies are just SO cute


To complete, the family, here are the wild cousins

I have wished for the Arden heavy horse for ages, and NOW she and her foal are here
But what is that They have changed colour from the beautyful, light bay "pangarè"-colour to ordinary bay


Still, I think they are lovely, the foal so full of life, he won`t stand stil


while Mom is busy scratching where it itches

Hmmm, yes, I like those two. However now I will have to start a hunt for the old , light painted ones. Papo sure knows how to make life hard for collectors

AND last, but not least, I could not resist the new Chamois. I LOVE this model

I agree, they are all very beautyful , I love them all

Hmmm, yes, there is something with the hindlegs, it is not easy to see, only in the picture, but you are right, I could try the hot + cold water treatment .....if I dare

I think the boar looks pretty good! Of course, I always like to see new and improved figures!

Oh, Susanne! :) Many pigs! I like the photos and all figures here! I also think 3 chamois are nice but I'm sure my choice will be the Papo.
I also want to give you some work, could you please take a picture of the wild boar with the last Schleich?

Sure, of course I will take pictures, only it has to wait till tomorrow, as it is dark now
I have ordered a daylight-bulp for my lamp but it has not arrived yet
