| Congrats Susanne!
I love all three of them. I think my personal liking for the yak will be Schleich. Icelandic mare & Pelican look great. And also find that pelican is really huge here!! _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/ken-yeo

| Susanne! They are gorgeous, but especially the Yak!! I ordered mine months ago, but the site I bought it from said they didn't have it in stock but would send it as soon as they did - I think it will be worth the long wait seeing how fabulous it is _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| It's Pelicanzilla! So ... Papo, you made a more detailed version of the Schleich yak, a "freakishly" bigger version of the Safari ltd pelican, and a similar version of the Safari icey... Hope you didn't put in to many extra hours conjuring up these brilliant "retreads".... I guess either you just want to show you can make better figures by making similar versions or you're just to lazy to come up with different poses and/or new animals. Instead of the huge pelican, why not have made a cassowary? Instead of a yak(Even it looks like it already has a lot of fans), how about a Banteng? Just throwing out a few suggestions...

| Yes, how did you guess, I'm from NASA and dealing with the toy companies (who are at times like "brainless" aliens), who copy cat and don't make figures in "relative" proportion are the BANE of my existence. As I said before, I have a hard time displaying my figures when the mandrill's as big as the gorilla, and they can't make more of a diversified group of figures in different positions/poses. I'm spoiled because I grew up with my Britain's and the elephants are "relatively" in proportion/scale with the rhinos, the rhinos with the lions etc. I have really no complaint with the sizes of my Britains especially when displayed. Look's like Lineol did a pretty good job with proportions/scales as well(Would love to see an entire Lineol zoo set-up/display)! Yes, the new 2011 yak is nice, heck of a lot better than the Schleich, but why couldn't they make it in a lying position instead of a Schleich red-do? You know I love Papo, but I'm rather disappointed with this years assortment! |

| Congratulations to all these new Susanne The splendid horses. The pelican big top for display, should I put my birds with Africans if I buy it! ?? The yak, seemed better images than reality; I find it odd horns as they are painted, but the model is nice, you may need to wait for the next shipment or go to the paint shop! |

| Thanks, Luke Yes, it is a pity the horns are painted so strangely. Perhaps, as you say, it is beginner`s problem and they will make them better later , - I hope so !!! - HKHollinstone wrote:

| Hk, definitely repaint the horns to your liking.
They could have done a wild yak figure instead of the domesticated version. Apparently, the wild yaks are huge (the males-1000 pounds and 7 feet tall at the shoulder). So many options, but they had to copy cat... I would really like to see a collection of Lineol zoo animals displayed! I think they definitely have a refined look, similar now to what Papo produces. Hey, I really like the Alien! Alien and Aliens, are two of my fav' movies! By the way Roger, since I'm from N.A.S.A., I "GUESS" you know it stands for what I stand for... Nice Artistically Scaled Animals...

| I meant to say Nice Artistically Scale Animals...
*Not "scaled"(since I am referring to proportion not skin texture), however all crocodilians, pythons, cobras, monitors, and geckos are always welcome to be made into figures : ) |

| Subject: My first Papo dino and the strange mammut. Tue Jun 07, 2011 8:59 pm | |
| When I ordered the new papos, I could not resist the temptation to get just one dino also. Just a little, inexpensive one My choice was the scary Pteranodon !!!! Fortunately such creatures no longer fly round our ears Unlike the other brands, it seems that the name of the species is not moulded on the figuere, so I had to look in the catalogue. And thus I discovered that the mammut I got in a mixed lot last year, is not the one in the latest catalogues !!! There came a new one in 2009 ! So now I still have a Mammut from Papo on my wishlist Funny thing is that the item number of this old mammuth starts with 397 just like the cavemen. The new one starts with 550 like the dinoes |

| Congratulation Susanne The mammoth is the retired one... A good catch. The pteranodon is really beautiful too, very detailed and finely made except for one thing... It can't be a pteranodon ! Pteranodon means "toothless wings" in Greek. Pteranodon had toothless beaks, similar to those of modern birds. The Papo has tooth Isn't it serious ? |
