Thank you again for commenting, everyone who did!

It does, doesn't it? I see it too now. I'm afraid the tiny tyrant dinos probably aren't the kind and gentle leader type, either..

That one is the imaginary Foetodon from the Peter Jackson version of the film King Kong. Here is another shot of him:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The figurine is a smaller version of the collapsible Foetodon by Playmate. It was sold here around the film's release in the local arts-and-crafts/knick knacks store chain Tiimari (currently going under, to my dismay - they'd often carry obscure China animals and interesting polyresin statuettes, so I'm saddened to see them go).

[Edit.: Oh, I didn't remember I'd already posted the individual picture of that Foetodon. Oh well, can't harm to have it here again to supplement the brief info bit, I guess.]

I've had the good fortune of having been able to arrange some splendid trades recently, so despite my scrimping and saving for the new CollectA and Papo releases, I've had some marvellous parcels arrive in the mail. (Thank you Taos and Sortepletter; UK of DDF; and Trista from Figuurifoorumi!) Here are some figurines from the past few weeks:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
From left to right: CollectA 2011 Hatzegopteryx 88441; before it 2007 Primeval Hesperornis; Safari Ltd. Wild Safari alligator 276429; Tedco Dino Horizons Dig Up Dino Stegosaurus skeleton; atop it a 2014 Walking With Dinosaurs 3D blind bag Troodon manufactured by Vivid Toy Group Ltd.; center foreground the Pachyrhinosaurus 'Scowler' from the same series; butting heads with it a Kaiyodo UHA Dinotales Series 1 The Chocolasaurs Collection Brontotherium (Megacerops) 019a; behind the pair a Safari Ltd. 2005 Carnegie Collection Microraptor; and under it an unknown party favour sauropod.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Safari Ltd. 2010 Wild Safari Coelacanth 285729 (Latimeria chalumnae); Country Artists Best in Show Bloodhound CA02455; and Papo recumbent Simmental cow 51151.

Again, a great thank you to all whom I traded with!

Thank you, all, for looking and commenting. I'm glad you enjoyed the bloodhound and hesperornis in particular - both look so decidedly grumpy to me they could probably do with the extra cheer.

Carola wrote:

Country Artists are a British film specialising in English countryside themed polyresin statuettes, home decor and other knick-knacks. They carry a multitude of different lines, of which the Best in Show series these hounds are part of is but one. The dogs in that series were sculpted by a chap called Paul Szeiler, and come hand-painted in oils. (My bloodhound even had some severed bristles from a paint brush stuck in its paint under its wrinkly chin!)

Shanti wrote:

Do - I quite recommend them! The Best in Show series is in my opinion Country Artists' best mammalian line, sculpting-wise. Also, hello to a new member from a similarly newish one! I remember seeing and admiring your meticulous work on model horse tack on Fallen Leaves a long, long time ago, and by the looks of your avatar picture, you've only improved since then.
