It does, doesn't it? I see it too now. I'm afraid the tiny tyrant dinos probably aren't the kind and gentle leader type, either.. - Kikimalou wrote:

That one is the imaginary Foetodon from the Peter Jackson version of the film King Kong. Here is another shot of him: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The figurine is a smaller version of the collapsible Foetodon by Playmate. It was sold here around the film's release in the local arts-and-crafts/knick knacks store chain Tiimari (currently going under, to my dismay - they'd often carry obscure China animals and interesting polyresin statuettes, so I'm saddened to see them go). [Edit.: Oh, I didn't remember I'd already posted the individual picture of that Foetodon. Oh well, can't harm to have it here again to supplement the brief info bit, I guess.]

| Thank you, all, for looking and commenting. I'm glad you enjoyed the bloodhound and hesperornis in particular - both look so decidedly grumpy to me they could probably do with the extra cheer. - Carola wrote:

Country Artists are a British film specialising in English countryside themed polyresin statuettes, home decor and other knick-knacks. They carry a multitude of different lines, of which the Best in Show series these hounds are part of is but one. The dogs in that series were sculpted by a chap called Paul Szeiler, and come hand-painted in oils. (My bloodhound even had some severed bristles from a paint brush stuck in its paint under its wrinkly chin!) - Shanti wrote:

Do - I quite recommend them! The Best in Show series is in my opinion Country Artists' best mammalian line, sculpting-wise. Also, hello to a new member from a similarly newish one! I remember seeing and admiring your meticulous work on model horse tack on Fallen Leaves a long, long time ago, and by the looks of your avatar picture, you've only improved since then. |
