Speaking of awakening desires, I've been sick for the past two weeks and am slowly recovering, so I am starting to edit sculpts again after a while, I hope to have them ready to be painted soon. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

You are so talented at editing sculpts- wow, the detail looks amazing! You have got the texture just right, I've been zooming in to look closer because there is so much to learn from this, as usually I only sculpt fur!

| Thank you, I have a lot of fun sculpting keratin sheaths like on the Triceratops frill. I made some further progress today but I'm not sure anymore if I keep the jaw articulation on the Mojö figure, the mandible is attached so tightly that it bends when the jaw moves, causing the Apoxie to crack. | Well, that is finished now, the base figure was a Mojö Fun Tyrannosaurus. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]For one part I was just curious how far I can edit this sculpt, but it was also to get the thought of buying PNSO's Wilson 3 out of my head as that one would cost 70 € which would be just too much for a regular sized PVC Tyrannosaurus model that is only almost accurate to current science (lack of lips, teeth slide out of their sockets, scales are a bit too large), this Mojö Fun one costs less than 20 € and doesn't require a support rod to stand either. I think if I bought the more expensive one with that 50 € price difference I would have just felt regret, it wouldn't be good enough to simply put it on the shelf as it is and I would have only thought about what else I could have bought with that money, but working on this Mojö one was so much fun. |

| Schleich has this habit of stamping their headquarter address on each of their non-set figures, in some cases this leads to part of the stamp being applied to very visible spots such as on their recent chihuahua and quokka, my neighbour thus asked me to edit faer Schleich quokka by removing the stamp on its thigh, I'll give it back to fae later today. | There's so much knowledge in this thread as well as beautiful artistry, and about animals I know very little about myself. Quite a journey for me going through these pages! Beautiful textures and colors you create on all of these creatures, and so much life you give them, especially with the sculpting. I love especially the ones you painted using the cave paintings as a reference. |

I'm fixing the Schleich giant anteater, making the neck shorter as that has been bothering me for a while. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

New Schleich sculptors are being inspired in giraffes these days, besides their horses with very long necks, the same with the anteater. About the markings, I agree with you. I'd say I am so used with them that they do not bother me too much anymore but it is weird that they try to replicate a certain animal as realistic as they can and after it they put these markings everywhere. I know they're unavoidable but they should use less information.

Good job on the quokka. Anteater's neck definitely looks shorter. Much better.

I don't see a problem with stamps either, I don't know why they would be an actual issue to anyone in general, it's just awkward when they are placed in such an extremely visible spot instead of the underside or inner thigh where they usually go and especially when it's avoidable like in this case where it only occurred due to Schleich's address taking up so much space. I think I would have kept the thigh stamp maybe if it was my own figure but it was requested by my neighbour to have it removed and fae are happy with the result so that's all that matters, that's also why the tag is still attached as well, fae prefer Schleich tags to be still attached on faer Schleich models. When I do my own customs I only remove stamps when it's actually unavoidable but usually I like to keep them, on the Mojö Tyrannosaurus I could only keep the CE on the inner thigh but on the Bullyland Megatherium I somehow managed to keep the brand name, you can see it on page 2 of this thread, I think it's neat when the original brand is still identifiable on customs. The whole neck situation reminds me that I have to lengthen the neck of the Schleich Cryolophosaurus sometime. I think I have finished the resculpt for the anteater. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I also am converting the Schleich 2021 warthog into a Visayan warty pig. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

A Visayan warty pig? Not an expectable idea even considering the not very good shape of the Schleich warthog. Though, I am sure you will manage it and I am excited to see it.

Haha yeah as soon as the Mojö warthog was announced I immediately wanted to replace my Schleich one with that, the 2021 Schleich warthog still looks better than the older Schleich warthogs but the Mojö 2021 one is just so so good. My mom is from Cebu so I pick up animals from the Philippines from time to time when I get the chance, there is however unfortunately no figure of this pig apart from one ceramic sculpture so I felt like recycling the warthog into that. I actually got to see these amazing animals in person once at a conservation center in Cebu. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Thank you so much for saving the new Schleich Giant anteater I can't wait to watch it painted ! The Visayan warty pig conversion is an excellent. I thought to do the same things but i'm too busy or too lazy to make this project a reality. Maybe your work will give me enough energy to follow in your footsteps.

Your custom creatures are certainly well fed! Is that an anomolocaris? I really need to learn more about all the pre-dinosaur models out there - I'd no idea any company was making these things til this forum!

Yes, there are some Japanese companies that made Anomalocaris figures, Cambrian animals seem extremely popular in Japanese pop culture overall, unfortunately due to Japanese companies being hesitant to enter the international market it is hard to access these outside of Japan for a reasonable price, this figure here was thus originally a bootleg of a figure by the Japanese company Favorite Co. Ltd., sculpted by Hirokazu Tokugawa.

Ah, well it's great that they're being made, and appreciated so much somewhere, even if it isn't spreading worldwide. I've noticed several Japanese brands being talked about on the forum here, with no stockists in other countries, only private individuals willing to ship overseas. It's such a shame all these beautiful models of less-often-made species are so hard to find. But lucky there's neat knock-offs you can work with for customising!
