Safari 2022 releases... updated with Sahara Desert TOOB

Salmon shark, minke whale and "Nanotyrannus" all look really nice!

I’ve been thinking about it and I changed my mind about the juvenile rex. I have PNSO baby T. rex and Battat and Safari’s adult versions and since each growth stage of the rex is slightly different, it would be nice to have all three. My other rexes are Safari’s feathered rex, Papo’s running rex, and about 7 tyrannosaurs from the Jurassic Park lines

Next is another Dino Dana figure, an ankylosaurs based on the show/movie I guess. I don't know I don't watch it

I used to watch Dino Dan when I was a kid, it was a tv show. So now I guess they have done a revival with a new show and cast, haven't seen it though.

That’s a Zuul crurivastator, an ankylosaur known from the late Cretaceous of North America. It’s known from a rather complete skeleton so it’s a trustworthy recreation of the animal.

I really like that one, even though its really only one color. 

Another realization, I am just happy that Safari has a regular line of presentations for this year. Last year I think they had to scrap some projects due to cost and we only got a handful of new items... I am grateful to see so many new things!

I'm only planning to get a few of their new releases but I'm overjoyed to see them stronger than last year. I was worried for a bit and I'm glad to see them doing better

Perhaps their strategy is working? (To supplement income by becoming a toy distributor for some other brands as well.

I understand that Safari, after so bad times, introduces this kind of merchandising. Those are more than acceptable dinosaur figures and luckily they will help Safari to recover.
As far as I can see, Safari hasn't released yet a single figure for the Wildlife collection what gives me big hopes of seeing a few great models.

I used to not like Safari using PNSO’s method of revealing figures over a span of the year, but teasing them is a great way to build hype. Something coming tomorrow also.

I thought it was a sauropod, but in another teaser imagine with some other figures you can see it has three toed theropod feet.

Zuul is known from practically complete remains yes, but the only described elements thus far are it's skull and tail. The body had not been completely prepared until very recently, so all current reconstructions of Zuul are speculation, with many elements inferred from related taxa. So the accuracy of Safari's take is technically up for debate until Victoria Arbour drops her Zuul papers. I've brought up the figure with Victoria, and she states that the potential discrepancies between the figure and real animal are only minor. This was the conversation I had:

Thank you for the clarification! Is the flank armour on the body preserved too? I notice different reconstructions have different sized & shaped flank osteoderms. e.g. Safari has a single row of small dots, while @MesozoicMuse reconstruction has multiple rows of large spikes.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The largest land animals today are elephants but they have very poor eyesight and can only see grey, but dinosaurs could have seen all sorts of colors, just like modern birds.

I like the color work and his very surprised expression. 

I'm happy about the new Shiba inu! The paintwork is nothing to write home about but it will hold up better to being carried around for photos than the Mojo ones.

This Albertosaurus looks like a decomposing corpse with this greenish blue. Zombie dino.

I read on DTF that this figure suffers from onesie syndrome, which is where the blue striping is lacking from the head, arms, and feet, making it seem like the figure is wearing a onesie. I’m still going to be getting it anyway, as it is a phenomenal figure, and will fit well with my Papo gorgosaurus and other fauna from that time.

If people is looking for unusual paint color schemes, this Albertosaurus does not disappoint.
It could be much easier for a brand with a recent crisis to provide a boring colored T-rex like dinosaur but they decided to assume some risk with this layout and I am happy for that.

I agree, but my favorite picks were the Crested gecko and the Salmon shark. Especially the gecko, because it reminds me of a high-quality local pet store...

I'm still wondering when will the Asia TOOB be revealed and what ungulates and/or carnivores will come...

A safari employee confirmed that more figures would be announced throughout the year, much like PNSO's releasing strategy.

We should get a few wildlife models at least, and I am hoping for some farmlife as that series has been very quiet for some time.
