Here are some of my one coloured models, they are in about the 1:25 scale:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Beaver
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Grizzly
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Shark
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] The shark came from these series
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Red fox
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Virginia whitetaildeer
But there are more series, like farm, wildlife, circus and so on...
Willy? Isn't the white bear an American black bear? Why you call it grizzly, have you any reference document saying it? I have that figure and it looks an American black bear but maybe I'm wrong? The beaver is surely an American beaver although we cannot see it in a figure but the standing pose is more common in American beavers and surely Marx made their woodland series inspired in American fauna. |

| I can understand why you think that about the bear, but it was ment to be a grizzly, speak American brwon bear, and as you said before, they made them after the American faune, so i suspect the beaver is American to... I got the info from this one site, from which i gave you the link long ago on this forum, where you can spend weeks, only researching... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

I got the info from this one site, from which i gave you the link long ago on this forum, where you can spend weeks, only researching... Thanks for the link, I never heard about it before. Do you know Willy, I think Marx sculptors were very competent and it is hard for me to understand why they forgot the hump that we find in grizzly bears. The morphology is typical of a American black bear, that obviously is also an animal of North American fauna. But when you are not sure you can always check Willypedia! |

| Did you find the link then Rogerio? Yes, i agree on the baer, it misses the hum indeed, although most models were very accurate, specially for the time they were made in... But this bear has a kind of beard to, which is not typical for the baribal i think... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| I could imagine that any of those companies did this kind of work, but there are companies that do so indeed, if you search on ebay... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| I have a few Marx animals in various scales, and thought I might as well add them to this thread instead of starting a new one. First up, large scale in hard plastic. I got them like this, and think they were factory painted (Hong Kong? Taiwan?). Does anyone here who knows more about Marx stuff than me know about them? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]" /> Now some in a smaller scale. The top 3 in medium/soft plastic, the bottom two in harder plastic and from the individually boxed 'Animal Kingdom' set. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]" /> Now normal scale unpainted animals [img] [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/img] Now most of the Marx nativity set, which includes some animals. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]" /> I'd part with all except the 2 'Animal Kingdom' ones, the Ibex & Elephant, if someone 'makes me an offer I can't refuse', sale or vintage swap. |
