LOVE all this "scale" talk! I would like to see Papo, Safari, and CollectA do animals in "relative scale"!
I always refer to "relative scale" because, as I learned and was told on this forum, that to make perfect scale would be nearly impossible, so I'll settle for "relative scale" : )

If you follow this link back to our "Ancient Elephants" post, you will see two of these Lineol Asian Elephants on the third picture. Would you tell us whether your Elephant has metal or composition tusks?

Sue & Lesley

Mine has composition tusk I guess... I guess because they are in mint condition but I can't see any breaking line between elephant and tusk cyclops

What a superbly animated pose Christophe. A really impressive sculpture and a must have for any animal figure collection.

I think so too! The proportion is quite accurate!

I love very much the WW Asian elephant, it is on one of my "Indian" shelves and can deal with models I love like Ana's Gaur bull, PAPO tigers...

I don't like the WW African elephant, it is big but the proportion are those of a subadult not an adult, head is too big for an adult.

Nevertheless, when I am speaking about a deserving successor I'm speaking about a brand not a few models Wink

I mean LINEOL, or BRITAINS, were brands with very fine sculpting, proportions and nearly in scale. None of the modern companies have all the qualities of LINEOL.
For example PAPO made some fantastic cats and a poor very poor dromedary, without speaking about the zebras...
SCHLEICH models are a bit more accurate than in the past but still out of scale.
SAFARI Ltd mad e a lot of good models, some are really very very accurate but how many scales ?
None of them have all the LINEOL qualities in one brand... But I'm not to old so who knows Laughing

I agree! I still cherish my Britain's zoo animals, because of what you said, good sculpting and relative scale. I wish Papo would use their big cats as scale for other models, and go from there.
I guess the same could said for Safari, CollectA and Mojo.
WW Asian elephant looks fine with Papo tigers : )
