| Subject: Britains Lot 3 and 4 came in for Februari 2011... Sat 26 Feb 2011 - 14:02 | |
| Last week, and today i had some very nice Britains items coming in. First a lot with dsome Britains Farm stuff from the late 1970's, and 1980's. Both in their original package. Here are some pics: Lot one. 1742 Britains deetail Heybales in OVP. 1728 Britains deetail Metal Fences in OVP. 1728 Britans Metal Fences with OVP. Today i had a wonderfull lot, with mainly older Britains horses, from which i hadn't seen some of them in real anymore since i was young... Then 4 Highland Steers, which i lost in my youth to, and now i have 4 of them, one for me, one for Torbens Britains Collection, and two for the trade, so if anyone is interested... Another good thing is, that all of these models are in absolute mint-condition! Here are the pics again: 2102 Britains vintage Field Horse, the very first heavy horse from Britains! Here together with my 2109 Cart Horse, which is the same model, only with gearment. 2103 Britains vintage Hunter Horse, probably the most beautifull horse they ever made... 2104 Britains vintage Riding horse, the first riding horse from them, here in darkbrown. 2104 Britains vintage riding horse in white. 2105 Britains deetail Hunter horses, also called Hackney Horses. This is the later model for the hunter horses, 2 variations, 2 with gearment around the head, and 2 without, and in 2 colour-variations, which comes easy in brown models from Britains. 2122 Britains vintage Colt standing, darkbrown. 2122 Britains vintage Colt standing, white. Here together with 2 very early versions that i have, marked very different under their belly's, i think it says Herald England, which is correct, as Britains took over Herald in the 1960's. 2142 Britains vintage Highland Steer _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

Yes they are gorgeous too and in fabulous condition By the way I've just been looking at your collector's quest site as Mihnea said you had TM models, I just got one from eBay, it's a hippo - it's different to your one though, do you know anything about TM models? _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| Wonderful news, Willy ! They are all great. The foals with large heads are very unusual, - somebody must have heard that foals of heavy breeds have larger heads But IF I could have a pick, that metal fence set, - WOW |

| Thanks guys! TM models stands for Tom Major Harriet, which is a brand from China, which makes copies of other brands to by the way... I saw them from the 1990's on until now. you will get your share of Britains torben, don't worry. The good thing in searching and hunting for you, is that i find some stuff for myself to... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Subject: Lots of Britains Models came in for March 2011... Tue 29 Mar 2011 - 0:47 | |
| Don't you people think that i forgot about you all, or about this forum, i am just to busy the last weeks with all sort of things, so that i why i wasn't here to much. But as always things come in here on a regular base, so here is some of that stuff. I am trying to find as much Britains for my friend Torben as i can, and i between i do score some stuff for myself to. Here is that stuff from last month(all Britains): 1718 Farm Fences boxed this time. 1727 Farm Fences with warning shield, beware of the bull. I had this shield already, but could complete it now with those fences that belong to them. 2102 Field Horse, first version in plastic. 2102 Field horse, second version, which i found recently ago. Here together with the 2109 Cart-Horse version, which i found recently ago to. 2102 Field Horses, version one and two. 2109 Cart-Horse, version 2. Both types 2109 Cart-Horses to compare. To make things clear after all these pics, i found the field horse(2109) from the first version, and the cart-horse(2102) from the second version, so they make 4 together now. I don't think, i showed these 2 guys before, but they are the first versions of the 2100 Draught-Horses, or the pre-ancestors of the later Clydesdale horses. I white and dark brown... This was one of the Britains lots, in which were some items for me to, you can recognize the cart-horse, but there were some other ones for myself to. 2126 vintage Donkeys, from which one is a new variation. Here a variation on the 2202 vintage Oxford down Sheep standing to, made out of a softer kind of plastic, which you only can see and feel when you have them in your hands. 2204 vintage Oxford down Sheep lying, new to me to. Besides from some doubles, almost all for torben. This was an interesting lot... For me finally a reasonable running baby-giraffe, a variation on the deetail walking polarbear, a variation on the deetail golden eagle, a variation on the hippo-baby(pink belly), the lead pandacub, and 2 very nice but unknow items made out of lead to, but covered with flock, a kind of tiger, and a pandacub more or less. But first the very rare 1334 vintage Brown Bear cub standing, made only for 3 years in the late 1960's. Here both versions for the 1334 model, the polarbearcub and the brownbear cub standing. I found a good example of the polarbearcub recently to, and one for my friend Torben to... 1332 deetail Polarbear walking, the one in the front is new, slightly smaller, much more yellowish, and a harder kind of plastic. These kind of variations you only find by accident, when you have your own model next to it. 1388 Golden Eagles, the new one is lighter in colour, and differetn in position, which is easy to make if you use a hairdryer to warm it up, but i think this one was original different. The vintage and deetail version ogf the 1372 Gorilla standing, which i had already both, but I needed one for torben. Just look at their length and faces, the right one is the later model with a humanlike face... Finally in this tread, the 2 strange figurines, not Britains, but as they came in this lot, i show them here.(i saw i forgot to take a seperate pic of the tiger/leopard figurine, sorry, but it is visable in the picture of the lot in the back) This is the lead panda figurine, with flock. _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Again very nice to see that you've found some time, even very late in your country to share these figures with us, there's no many people showing this kind of replicas! Anyway I don't see any tiger... where is it? Congratulations for you and Torben for your new additions!!!:) |

| Hi, Willy, congratulations again!
There was a firm called LAING which specialised in flocking zoo and farm animal toys in the 1950's. Several of the well-known makers had figures flocked by Laing.
The upright-sitting flocked bear looks like a poor pirate copy of Jo Hill's Panda/Polar Cub. The Tiger is by Taylor and Sons.
Hope this helps!

| Hi guys! Thanks you very much again, i am glad to be back, although my time is very limited at the moment. The big cat, which i called a tiger in the first place, is in the second picture after the Britains sheep Rogerio, in the back between the giraffecalf and the standing gorilla, it is a kind of leopard of course... Made by Taylor and Sons as Sue and Lesley told us now. Thanks for the info guys! _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| This is the unflocked "Lioness" version of the Taylor and Sons Tiger. The sculptor was having a bad day when he created this one! Willy, is your flocked Bear/Panda solid metal or hollowcast? Sue & Lesley castlerigg |

| Oh, in this pic gets clear for me! Thank you, the sculptor tried to make something between some species and of course the result is strange! But of course not what I thought! Thanks! :) |

| Thanks Remrock! Yes, those Britains horses are great indeed, i think, i have about 60 of them, alll diferent in one or the other way. Your pics didn't show up mon ami, to bad, i would have liked to see them... Yes Sue and Lesley, that is the model, the question is, if this flocked model is from Taylor and Sons to... It is made as a leopard this time by the way, to make that clear to. Anyway, i made a few pictures of it, to show you here. The panda as well as the leopard are made in hollowcast Sue and Lesley. _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman
