| It won't hurt you to know something more about the older brands and models my friend... A modern ram? You don't mean the Papo model here? _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

A modern ram? You don't mean the Papo model here? Oh, I love to know about old brands and figures! If you read my comments you see that I'm very interested in it... I'm still dreaming with a Lineol! But I was talking not about the Papo ram but the Nayab ram, it was a lot of work to understand that it was a ram, anyway some people told me that this is a secret... do you have this dramatic figure? |

| Thank you very much Schleich-Queen Amy! No no Rogerio, i don't know him, but maybe you can show a picture of him? I did look on Torbens homepage, but only found an Ibex, a goat and a sheep from this brand..., but no ram... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Well rogerio, i think you tackled the problem already, the fact that Nayab is not always very accurate... so in that case Christophe could be very right, a Chinese breed of sheep maybe... But it has some resemblance to the Texel sheep from our islands, which is the most common sheep in Holland, but he is a little bit chubby and short-necked for that... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Last week, i had a lot with some Britains models in again... Just a few for me, some for Torben, and some for the the trade. I show you the ones for myself only here... The whole lot. 1317 Britains vintage Giant Tortoise, a better one, than the one i had. Here together with the later deetail version on the left. 1357 Britains vintage Zebra, finally i found one in good condition, and the second one goes to Torben. In this lot was a pig, made in England, but i don't recognise the brand, anybody knows this maybe... (I had a lot of Hong Kong versions of this model already...) And this little version of the Britains model, made in very different colours, which i had in the 1:32 scale already, but this one is nice a a llama foal. _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| The tortoise is a cool figure! I guess with okapi, they just didn't paint it correctly, for maybe lack of photos back in the sixties(when the figure was produced)? It wasn't like they could google/yahoo a million images of okapis. Still a great figure(position wise/size wise). Plus, okapis were really only discovered around 1901. So a rare an animal, probably not displayed in many zoos in the sixties either. |

| Good catches Willy, I never heard about the smaller llama, maybe was it made for a train or car serie About the okapi colours, I'm sorry but they were very well known in the 1960's because this animal is so "special"... LINEOL, HAUSSER and CLAIRET made one before BRITAINS. I was born in 1964 and I know the okapis colors since my youth I guess the answer is BRITAINS is a line which produced very accurately sculpted animals with a poor painting because it was cheaper. Look at the gaur's wrong colors... I can't imagine a British company which made a so seriously sculpted Indian gaur and didn't know the colors. I will not speak about the tigers and lions painting... |

| Thank you all guys! The little llama is not Britains Christophe, it is a Hong Hong copy FROM the Britains model, maybe i was not clear explaining that, sorry. I had this colour already, but in the same scale as the original Britains, and i have a grey and brown one to. Britains is a fine line to collect indeed Rhianna, and most of them are not very expensive besides some rarer models. Yes Susanne, i still find Britains that i didn't have before, and i still miss a few, but that is a matter of time. Strangely enough, i find most of these missing Britains models in Germany... There are loads on e-bay UK, but the prices go far more up there. I still miss the black version of the leopard/panther, which is quit expensive for such a little animal, normally they go for 75 eruo a piece. Then i miss the oldest version of the Asian elephant, the running African elephant, and there seems to be a second version of the Malayan tapir, which i never did see before, so i don't know the difference with the one i already have. _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Luckily I have both leopards(spotted and black). I wish Safari Ltd would have done a spotted version of their Wildlife Wonders black jag(like they did with their WW tiger figure(first one orange/black stripe, then same figure white/black stripe)! |
