The little llama is not Britains Christophe, it is a Hong Hong copy FROM the Britains model, maybe i was not clear explaining that, sorry. I had this colour already, but in the same scale as the original Britains, and i have a grey and brown one to. All right, I understand now . - WILLYBACOMAN wrote:
Britains is a fine line to collect indeed Rhianna, and most of them are not very expensive besides some rarer models.
Willy is right Rhiannon, BRITAINS is one of the majors of the XXth century and this "nearly on scale" line is excellent. - WILLYBACOMAN wrote:
Yes Susanne, i still find Britains that i didn't have before, and i still miss a few, but that is a matter of time. Strangely enough, i find most of these missing Britains models in Germany... There are loads on e-bay UK, but the prices go far more up there.
The best places to find cheap Britains is not UK indeed. The best place to find cheap Schleich is not Deutschland and the best place to find cheap Starlux is not France... I don't remember why - WILLYBACOMAN wrote:
I still miss the black version of the leopard/panther, which is quit expensive for such a little animal, normally they go for 75 eruo a piece.
I bought mine in a big batch for a couple of euros... Chance can't spend all his time in Zwolle |

| Ok then my friend! No, chance can't always be on the same place, and it should be shared with good friend anyway! You say, you have both versions of the Britains panther Baltimore, but i hope you know that there are at least 3 versions. A light and darker version, and the last one had ringed spots, and the black version of course. I know a place to find them, but they are to expensive in my eyes, i don't want to pay 75 euro for it... My 3 versions, a little bit far away to see the difference. This is the light version, and the one with ringed spots. A duo of the black one. _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| I had a colour-variation in, actually already last week in april ,but ok, i place the pictures now, so it will be may then. It is the 2103 Britains vintage Hunterhorse, this time in white, as i found the darkbrown version last month already. I have special memories on this model, and i still think, it is the most elegant horse that Britains made in plastic. 2103 Britains vintage Hunterhorse in white. Together with the darkbrown one. I had this one from Germany again, and i am really wondered in which good condition i find those models the last months, and models i couldn't find for such a long time... And i only paid 1 euro for it, more than 40 years old, forget the stupid shipping cost of 3,45 euro everytime... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| I have two versions of this panther too. A modern one from the 70s I think and an older one, the new one is a shiny plastic. Whereas the older is matt and the colours are faded. _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| The time in which you buy something says it not always... You could have purchased a model that was made earlier of course... But on Britains, you can see if a model is made in the later or earlier years. The later models just look moderner, with sharper edges on the model. The details are often better to, same for the painting. Older models are often more worn off, and have rounder edges, but some people kept their Britains almost unplayed, so they can look very modern to... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| I bought them at a specialty toy store, with brand new toys(at the time, no vintage), so they're later models. |

| Today i had a group of Britains cattle coming in, and a few days ago a flamingo. Only 2 of them are for myself, as i discovered, that i didn't have 2 of the Charolais cows in this early version. The Herford bull is for the trade, the Hereford cow, flamingo and Charolais bull are for Torben. Here they are: The whole batch of cows. 2143 Britains deetail Charolais bull, he is an awesome guy! 2144 Britains deetail Charolais cow standing, new for me, as i thought i had her already, but it was the later Britains Ertl version, same for the one below this. 2145 Britains deetail Charolais cow grazing. 2162 Britains deetail Hereford cow standing, which Torben and i already have, so this one is for the trade. 1383 Britains vintage flamingo, the one for Torbens Britains collection. _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| What a great-looking herd of cattle! I love the detail on the Charolais bull (nose ring!), and his "been there, done that" expression goes so well with these older brands - they are, after all, veterans. |

| Thank you all guys! Yes, the Charolais cattle are very nice indeed, even better then the later Herefords, but ok, you want to have them all, isn't it? By the way, the Charolais are all still made, but now in China by Ertl Britains with different paintings and material. I have them to, and they are much cheaper for a whole set actually... The Zwolle farmer is still expanding mon ami, haha! But the Zwolle zoologist and wildlife-collector to! _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman
