Unfortunately, the two previous owners were little girls, about ten-twelve years old. They tried to play with him as with the Barbie horse, so he got some scratches, and his mane came in a mess. I was lucky enough to get him, as his last owner tried to get rid of him (I suppose she understood that he wasn't for playing, but she had no money to repair him. I'm very glad that she didn't try to restore him herself). - Quote :

I hope his life in my herd would be long and pleasant for him. He's in loving hands now. Unfortunately the situation with the model horses in our country is rather poor now. There are very view serious collectors, and sometimes (not very often, but there has already been a number of cases) really good customs or interesting LE figurines enter such children's collections. The main problem is the fact they don't know what to do with them. They try to play with them (as they got used to), scratch and break them, then- at times- try to repair them and thus ruin them completely:( |

The Appendix mare is well done, yes, maybe because her mould isn't that old. The chestnut Arabian is older, ut, anyway, there's sth in him, I think. Even some old moulds are great (like mustangs). However, some artists may make wonderful equines even from those old plain figurines) |

| And the last part of my collection (for now ) Breyer Wind Dancers (scale 1:24). as long as I'm fond of different fairy creatures, including the Fairy Folk and Fairy Horses, it was almost impossible not to get a pair of Wind Dances to my collection. | I love your collection! I see some I have and several others I want (very jealous of your classic Mustang, that mold is very high on my list of grails). I'm also a fan of the wind dancers series, simply because they're great models - something you don't often find in the pink 'n' sparkly section! I'm still hoping for Breyer to put out realistic (as in, wingless and with sculpted m/t) versions of the same sculpts, because they badly need a new midsize line. |

Glad you liked it) As for Mustang- well, he was also in my wish list for ages, and now he's mine at last)) However, I seldom see this mould (but in other colours) on Ebay, in good condition or even NIB, sometimes- with his family. And at times he's not very expensive:) - Quote :

Yes, they are quite good, though I sometimes feel like taking away their wings and manes/tales, and turn them into normal horses with mohair manes/tales. |

Celeste is beautiful! Such a lovely paint job! This little mare is one of the prettiest molds ever made, i think, whether Breyer, Stone or Hartland. She is the only Stone or Breyer horse i have ever been truly tempted to buy after i stopped collecting horses. At a Stone Horse sponsored event here a couple years ago, they were raffling 3 models, a big Arab, a Chip and this mare in a lovely bay tobiano. i couldn't resist and bought a raffle ticket and won! You know which one i picked! But she was too dangerous for me to keep her - i didn't want to set a precedent! - so i gave her for Christmas to my friend who collects. i visit her every time i go over there. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]oh great, now that i've been looking at these, i want to start collecting this mare--- she's so pretty! _________________ carolynn

| You have a great collection :) Tregoyd Journeyman and Flim Flam were my first Breyers along with Misty and Stormy. Flim Flam just has this charm about him, I can't explain it but I picked him from all the others. I like your Boons, I have a custom on that mold and I love it very dearly, especially as it was a gift from a friend. You also have a model which I would love very much, The Palomino Andalusian ! I conga the G2 Andalusian but still have a few missing. I don't own any Peter Stone models yet but my first one is on the way to me A pinto Thoroughbred called................ Rio ! I've always wanted a Stone model and when I seen him and his name, well I had to buy him ! Plus it's rare to see a Stone model being sold in the UK because they are expensive to ship over here. |

Thank you) In fact, all of those figurines from my collection- from Schleich to Breyer- are more than just figurines to me. Every has its own story, name, and I remember how it entered my collection. So there are lots of stories about them- some funny, some rather sad- that I can tell you:) All that I need- a person who's interested in such stories :) - Quote :

As for Basilisk- yes, there's something about him. He's one of my favourite traditional horses, and the only one from the Silver mould (except Silver himself) whom I wanted to get very much, for any sum of money. |

| My Breyer classic mustang stallion finally got his lady! She's a bit too tall for him, but they do look quite good together, I think:) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Her name is Honeymoon, she's shaggy, and a bit thin, I believe. But she's very, very cute. And her building reminds a little the one of the Lokay horse. So, here she is- Breyer Classic Mesteño's Mother buttermilk dun, Alona and Damita Set . The funny thing is that she has no markings or stamps on her body or legs, like some very old Breyer horses. And yes, she has primitive markings and the dorsal stripe!:) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]She came together with a rearing stallion, who was kind of bodyguard for her during her long way to our part of the world:) So, welcome him- Breyer Classic Fighting Mesteno blue roan, Azul and Fausto SetI dreamed of getting this mold (and in this particular color) for ages, no finally he's mine:) We call him Vipolzen' (in English it's sth like 'Crowler'). He got this strange surname because he looks very much like the 'creeping girls' from the Japanese horror films, who's big fan I am=) I like this stallion very much, as he seems to be carved from stone. There's sth very ancient about him... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The first thing he did when he came - started arguing with the World of Warcraft's ghoul Rottinghem:) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

It wasn't me, but, anyway, I'm interested in Breyer Classic Mustangs very much (they are most beloved from all the Breyer horses):) Could you please give me some details on the one you've found? Then you'll loooove this photo from Karen Grimm's collection of the original Hagen Renaker Mustangs, which the Breyers are copies of. They are sooooooooooooo beautiful! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The Breyer Mustang stallion is at a store 2 hours away in the Mojave Desert, which has a lot of older Breyers (older as in late 90s, early 2000's). if i remember, he was pinto. I don't recall the price, but it wasn't outrageous. Someone was asking about Breyer dogs on another thread, so if there's interest, i'll figure out how to see what they have. Cece will go by there in January or December so she can check things out then, if not before. (i wouldn't be too worried about it selling before then as this store is literally in the middle of no where. It's very bizarre.) _________________ carolynn

| Got a number of Breyer horses yesterday- two trads (1:9) and several stablemates (1:32). The first one is Breyer Traditional Prince Jester. He has a very interesting colour- dark liver chestnut. It's particularly common in the Morgan horse, and may be indistinguishable from true black without very careful inspection. Often confusingly called "black chestnuts", they may be identified by small amounts of reddish hair on the lower legs, mane and tail, or by DNA or pedigree testing. What's funny, I thought that he was black, and found out his true color only as I came home and got a few pictures of him:) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]He has dapples (not easily recognized, however), and I haven't decide yet, whether I like dapples in dark colours. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The other one is Breyer Traditional Sato, LE 2011. He seems to be very interesting because of it's colour, uncommon for TB horses- he's sabino palomino. What's more, according to the DNA-research, genetically he is dominant white:) Such a strange and rare horse:) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]To tell the truth I'm a bit disappointed. I do not like they way Breyer does pinto colour in the last few years (they live the white parts unpainted). I have a strong feeling that the paint would be scratched away if I the edges it with my nails:( [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I like the way his head is sculptured, but the painting isn't really great- esp the line between the neck and the mane. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]It seems that Sato and Red Rum mold were made by the same artist. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Anyway, there's sth about him. A golden horse:) |
