| And my herd of new stablemates. A black pinto Saddlebred mare.A gorgeous mold, like it very much (esp its black pinto colour, and the ribbons in its mane) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A bay Highland pony. Little fat shaggy thing) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I'm surprised with the difference in the hight of a Clydesdale and a Highland pony- or I would rather say its absence. This draft horse, that's known to be one of the highest horse breeds in the world, seems to be only a bit higher than the pony. It's sad( [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A bay sabino Clydesdale gelding.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A grulla pinto mustang stallion. He's really cute. And looks like a little brother to a traditional Treasure Hunt 2007 dun sabino mustang:) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]He's so energetic. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And the last one, a Quarterhorse gelding. His colour is said to e a steel grey, but for me he's rather smokey black (black with a creme gene). | Thank you all:) Thanks to Carolynn I got a new herd of Stone/ Breyer horses, whose photos I'd like to share with you. First come the Stablemates. A grey pinto Saddlebred, Stablemates Horse Lover's Collection, (10 Horse Shadow Box Set) Though I'm not a big fan of this mold, I couldn't pass by as I saw this mare. She's just stunning. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A blue roan Paso Fino, Stablemates Horse Lover's Collection, (10 Horse Shadow Box Set). Like his colour very much. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A dun Standartbred, Stablemates Horse Lover's Collection, (10 Horse Shadow Box Set). To tell the truth I'm not fond of this mold at all, but the colour- it's really magnificent. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Then, the three new Peter Stone ISH's (Ideal Stock Horse), that entered my collection with the help of Carolynn. Robert's Dream, Illini, Skeeter Bug. A funny thing- they all are pinto, though in different ways. I'm a big fan of pinto horses, but I found out their colours only when they arrived. Such a surprise:))) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A dark bay tobiano Robert's Dream, or just Robb. He has a lovely shading and mapping [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and his eyes are very smart. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A bay sabino Illini. Seems to be the youngest among them. A very strange horse: once you see his photo, you consider him to be the most beautiful horse in the world. Than he comes, and you are surprised and a bit disappointed- it's an average horse, nothing special. But you look at him carefully, touch him- and realize that he's very, very cute. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And the last one, red roan Skeeter Bug. The only glossy among them. I'm not a fan of glossy models, but this one turned out to be my favourite in this company. The only thing I do not like about him is the way his eyes are painted. However, this can be easily remade. | And the last one from this "American" herd. Breyer Classic Seabiscuit (swaps mold, discontinued). He's sculptured by Maureen Love, whose model horses used to be breathtaking. This horse is one of the most beautiful Classics I've ever seen- he's even more detailed than some new Breyer Traditional's. Hope to find Terrang some day to accompany him. | And one last addition:) She's still on her way to me, but anyway I'd like to share some photos (made by artist) with you:) You've seen her OF photos already. Now she has a new look. A Breyer Traditional Weather Girl Arabian Partly Cloudly, CM to dark bay. The artist- Vivien the Dark. Here she is, my Fulgja. | In the US, pacing Standies actually outnumber the trotting ones. Dunno why pacing races never took off in the rest of the world, possibly because we race other breeds as well. Here in Norway the vast majority of light trotters have Standardbred background, however there's a fair bit of French influence as well.
BTW, surely that SM pacer is bay roan , not dun? |

| Thank you all, glad you liked them)
Susanne, Sumo I also consider this horse to be a bay roan one, but identifyyourbreyer.com tells us he's dun, so I used the "official" version)) Sometimes they have strange... ideas about their horses' colour, that I cannot agree with.
Mastiffcat Thank you once more;) |

that's not always a safe bet! Daria, ID Your Breyer is not an official site, so i don't think you need to go by what they say. I don't know if Breyer itself said anything about what color they think it is; the box doesn't say anything about that model's color. Looks like roan to me. _________________ carolynn

Perhaps it is a British site ? In British English, Dun does not always refer to the "wild-horse-colour". It is just a term used for horses of "a somewhat muddeled" colour. They use it for brown horses, buckskins, roans, perlinoes/cremelloes and more + of course the D-gene duns Unfortunately many Danish breeders have adopted this confusing habit, so I am always very suspicious when a horse is called "dun" |

Well, to tell the truth I haven't seen any fatal mistakes in what they say about the models (though I know very little of the old ones), only some small points. And I also agree with Susanne, in British English this word refers to horses, whose body color ranges from sandy yellow to reddish-brown. So maybe that's the reason the author called this horse "dun"/ |

| The stablemate pacer is roan :) There are a few models on the site who's colours are listed as different. Most of the time, this is because what Breyer has called them, especially with the stablemates. |

"Dun" is used in american english the same way - at one time i would have called this horse dun too - so that could be why IDYB calls it dun. i'm just saying that IDYR is not definitive, although it is generally very accurate, so it's not necessarily the last word. i'm not arguing, just explaining my comment. :) _________________ carolynn

I like them too) They are great!
Carolynn I see) Thank you) However, I do not focus my attention on the colors or sth like that, as I look through this site. I just have a look on what variations of the horses in one mold exist, and add the ones I like to my wishlist) As for the color- sometimes I even cannot agree with Breyer in naming some colors) |

| I am looking for Monash, which was a pretty recent release, and Cinderella Liberty. One of my best friends in the hobby sadly passed away nearly two years ago (25th November) and one of her favourite models was Cinderella Liberty.
I'd love to get one to name in honour of her. |
